Have you upgraded the firmware and how is it?

I really want to like this phone as I tried it out in a store today.
But I've read some nasty reviews of when it first came out.
Since then, I've also read some firmware updates have been released.
BF25
BK14
Have you had these installed on yours? How is it doing now?
Did they come with it on the phone?
I've had it for 6 months now and i had to bring it in for the update. 1/2 of the time I like the phone but some days I want to throw it because the touchscreen can be a pain!! It will take me forever to hit the right button and then somedays it works ...

Between this phone and Voyager?

Hey guys, i am due for an upgrade for a new phone next may. I was just wondering which phone would be better? This or the voyager, the rep at the store told me the voyager because it has backup dialing, but if i wanted to use speaker phone without the flip open. Then i should get the glyde. But the thing is i would really use my bluetooth more than the speaker phone. So what do you guys prefer?
I just got the Glyde last week and it has the new firmware update, BAK14, and I haven't had any screen issues. The only two things that bother me is the short battery life, 2 days max., and the inability to see the screen out of doors. Otherwise it's...

Calandar

Hi all
I recently got a pda phone only to find out that I needed a data plane (verizon). I gave back the phone and I'm still with my original LG V. The reason for upgrading was primarily the calander/appointment feature. I need a phone that will allow more than 32 characters to input in an appointment. All the LG phones I've tried can only input 32 characters max. I'm not familiar with the samsung line and wanted to know how many characters can you input in the calandar's appointment in the Glyde (or any samsung phones with a qwerty keyboard. Thank You!

Solution for the touchscreen issues

After having this phone for a few months, and doing controlled texting, I've found a solution to the common touchscreen issues. Basically, if you find that buttons are being triggered randomly, or on the opposite side of the screen you press, this post is for you.

When you charge your phone at night, flip it face down on a flat surface. Generally this is not recommended for touch surfaces, however, the screen will not be pressed against the surface because the home button keeps it at a very slight angle.

After testing this, I've found that the phone can be left on continuously for nearly a week before the touchscreen will malfunction. Since I started doing this, I haven't had any issues with the accuracy of the sensor at all. I left th...

The first line of the first paragraph should read "controlled testing," not "controlled texting." Typographical errors ftw!

How do I watch videos from my TF card on the Glyde?

I put a video on the Transflash card and want to watch it on the glyde but dont know how to go about it. Is it even possible?
You'll need to make sure they're in a supported format, which means you'll need to convert them before placing them in the video directory of your card.

How do you transfer pictures and videos to the computer without paying money?
What the heck do I do with the USB cord?

Really confused and frustrated...

I just got the glyde and had the same questions. Apparently the ONLY way to get the pics off the phone is through the microSD card - which is IMPOSSIBLE to quickly get to, or send them via a pic-message (air-time charges apply). The USB cable can be...

Has anyone learned a lesson?

I find it comical that so many people thought that this phone would be any better then the Voyager. Seriously, are there so many new people that simply ignored previous warnings about expectations? Here's the bottom line....the phone is no better then the Voyager..in fact, the Voyager is much better. At this time, I won't go into the reasons why but that is my personal opinion as I have used both. In 2 months, this phone will be forgotten like many others that had the hype but failed once released. The Voyager at least had decent reviews by many not only here but at HowardForums. The Glyde is sliding away in both forums. I will now call it the Slyde. If you enjoy gut wrenching waiting games for the new releases, you have my blessings...

I enjoy the Glyde over the voyager...I don't feel like I'm carrying a boat anchor with me anymore.

But, to each their own!

so you base your phone purchases on what others think? rather then finding out for yourself...hmm interesting stance 🙄

Be patient!

I hate when people down grade a phone when it comes out! Verizon is very good at fixing the bugs with new software updates which I dont know any other carrier that does. This phone and the Voyager and the Glyde is only gonna get better in time! Be patient some of you! And the Dare is in no way better than the Voyager! Either is the Glyde....Voyager tops them all!
your crazy man, the dare blows the voyager and glyde out of the water

Why the Glyde wasn't the right choice for me..

It's been a few days now and while normally I'd wait a bit longer to make up my mind, the functionality of the Glyde is just too neopolitan-flavored and too odd for my vanilla needs.
😕

I text. A lot. With the Glyde, you'd think texting would be made easier, but for me it isn't. The keyboard, while vital for imputting URLs, is a headache for me to use. The Function and Shift keys seem to be in opposite spots, and I keep switching to the alt-mode instead of CAPS. That's frustrating as all hell. Finding contacts to text is annoying too with the touchscreen.

The keys are too small for me to type with easily, and I have to use my fingertips..almost my nail.
Trust me..I have the thin fingers of an 'artist' and still, it's tough. I thoug...

How do i keep the speaker on (when the slide is closed) for the samsung glyde?

it seems to me.. that the nonspeaker mode.. is really quiet.. and i can't even hear anything... when me environment is noisy.. and i'm not that deaf. i am a teen!
does anyonee else think it is too low?
like i always have to click the speaker on button when i pick up for a call.. cause i can't hear!

because it keeps switching back to speaker off automatically.
or in order to always have speaker.. i have to always slide it open

is there anyway to keep the speaker on at all times?
hit the speaker button on the lower left
