Downloading new MIDlets..

๐Ÿ˜ณ
I don't know about you, guys. But i've just got this phone and i've tried to download a customised MIDlet and the phone doesn't install the application on itself.
I'm trying to get some explanations about why it doesn't work but after sell the stuff, the company doesn't help us anymore.
I'm very disappointed with this phone. I think i will destroy this phone and ask my insurances to give me another model.

No message alert lights

This is the first phone I have had that doesn't show a light when a message comes in. It only rings so there is no way of knowing that a message has been received if you are away from the phone.
I find this very strange in a phone that is advertised as a text messaging phone.
It also doesn't show any light when charging or when it has been charged. You have to actually open the phone to see if it has been charged or not.
I'm going to try to exchange this phone.

NO MORE For NOW

๐Ÿ‘€ The AX490 is on RED ALERT. Not to be sold by any alltel retail stores or partners until further notice. The phone has problems with power cycling and other unmentionables.

Has anyone used their 490 with a bluetooth?

The main reason I purchased this phone was to use the bluetooth. I have tried 2 headsets, and each of them results in the person on the other end hearing an annoying echo of themselves. Has anyone else experienced this? Also, I was told that I may have had the volume up too high. I tried turning the volume down, this did cut down on the echo, but then I could barely hear the person.
I have sold a couple of these phones but I havent actually paired one up with a bluetooth headset yet. I have experienced the problem your'e experiencing though, and it may be caused by your volume control. If you have the phone and headset volume bot...

Help with Rinsgter+

Hi there, I can't seem to connect to Rinster+, it always comes up with an error message. Is this a recurring problem, or is it just me?

Does the AX-490 have polyphonic ringtones or realtone ringtones? Thanks!

Keyboard layout :(

๐Ÿ˜• That keypad looks annoying- no QWERTY layout- or anything resembling any type of keyboard layout, just the letters A-Z alphabetized. I think typing on that could be slow and cumbersome and take too much time to learn.
In Canada, we have been exposed to the FASTAP keyboard for 2 years now.

The reaction has been thus:

If you are very use to T9, it is no faster than T9.

If you are phone noob, it is much easier and people type faster on the FASTAP keypad.

Really not that big of a deal. Although, yes it will take getting use to, it was actually easier to use than my razr. I was able to write out a text message quicker with this phone than I was with the razr using ITAp. Not to mention that most of the k...

I have the 490 as my demo phone and the Fastap isnt fast at all, its hard to find the letter you need quickly and if you use 2 thumbs to type, the phone will not keep up with you and skip many letters...

Well now...

Cool idea. This looks neat. Hope Verizon gets something like this soon.

I'm hoping USCC does. It's on our testing list I think.

FasTap

This FasTap technology is very long overdue! ๐Ÿ˜ฒ

I due hope that Verizon Wireless does get this phone and/or technology...it is AWESOME!!! ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Actually, I can't believe that it took this long for some manufacturer to think of this...I would get this phone if it was offered from Verizon Wireless.

Cool phone...cool idea! ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Also, I like LG, I think they are a very good brand...they always got high ratings in JD Powers studies and other electronics sites [CNET]. Plus, I like their build quality and heft that distinquishes them as a solid contender.

How Long Before Verizon Gets It?

Since Alltel basically uses all of Verizon's phones (with a few exceptions), how long before VZW gets a version of this? Anybody know? I'd love to get my hands on it....
You don't have to wait if you get your hands on one and flash it to Verizon. ***WEB WON"T WORK***

Hmm

This looks pretty cool but on Alltel? ๐Ÿ™„ I predict seeing more of these kinds of phones coming out in the very near future.
