While I believe that anyone or any group (like the FCC) means well, price controls ultimately are counter productive. The bottom line is that no one is ultimately required to own a business that provides goods or services, especially those that humanity could survive without having.
This is why minimum wage and other artificial economic controls don't work. Once an outside player comes along and forces companies to "do the right thing," they, in turn, respond by charging higher prices (minimum wage) or laying off portions of their workforce (price controls). In essence, by solving one problem, our government creates another.

Perhaps you should have spent more time in Economics classes. As was proven under the Nixon and Ford administrations, and as was predicted by Milton Friedman, wage and price controls are counterproductive to the economy.

Net neutrality isn't about wage and price controls. I'm not saying the FCC can't turn it into that... but that's not what it's about. It's about making sure that the internet ( a market place in and of itself) remains open and ensuring that ISP's aren't able to pick the winners and losers on the internet. If you think price fixing is bad... then you SHOULD oppose a closed internet.

@stepintime......I have degrees in accounting and finance and completely disagree with YOU. Price controls just create poor quality and shortages. Even Nixon tried it and failed.

No but when you defraud the American tax payer of Billions of tax dollars on the promise of an open fiber network that anyone can sell services on and instead build out a slow, copper, proprietary network while reaping insane profits at the expense of the same tax payer who paid for your network in the first place, there should be hell to pay.
