google tap to speak

The last day or so everytime I use the talk feature in messaging, after I send the text the tap to speak screen stays on the screen. It covers up half the screen. Even if I exit out of the text messaging app, it's still there on the home screen. The only way that I have found to get rid of it is to restart the phone. Has anyone out there had any similiar instances?
