Nice to see you support Korea. I wish that they were more Americans on this site.

hahahahahhaha!!!! What does violation of a patent by Apple have to do with Korean support?

Regardless of where the company is from Apple was found guilty of breaking the law and infringing on a patent. A silly patent war they started because they were so far up their own A$$ thinking their phones are superior. I hope they get what they deserve.

Plus! The most common phrase from anyone on the USA...
America is a continent, not a county, and no matter how deep the habit to call themselves 'Americans' , will be pretty much the same French people call themselves 'Europeans'.

And getting back to the actual subject, Apple will at least pay attention to other companies, since they will not just sit down on this Ban.

1) Earth does not have a continent named "America" (check a map)

2) Americans call themselves "American" because the name "United Statesian" just doesn't have much of a ring to it.

2b) According to your logic, "America" is a continent because the earth has continents containing the word (i.e. "North America" and "South America"). Therefore your own logic dictates that it is acceptable for the people of the USA to call themselves "Americans" because the official name of the country is "United States of America"

3) The French people in France are European (check a map)

I love it when people go off bashing the US with a smug sense of intellectual superiority while being completely oblivious of their own ignorance.

Interestingly enough, I recently found out that outside of the US (like so many things that really should be called "worldwide") schools teach that the "Americas" are one continent, and Australia is actually considered part of Antarctica ( its called Oceania)... not speaking in terms of nations, but continents. Just like they tolerate our system of measurements but use a more universal one, they tolerate us claiming there to be 7 continents while teaching 5, lol.

Just thought that worth mentioning 😉

Being Canadian, I can tell you I was never taught that.

What I WAS taught was that the Americas are three continents, North, Central, and South America. However, you are right about Oceania, it encompases Australia and Antarctica.

These aren't really meant to be or should be considered "Continents" but "Regions". Oceania is a region, the Americas is too, as is: Indoafrica, Eurasia, etc etc.

You'd be surprised how far behind the United States is with their education system compared to most other 1st world countries. I have Russian and Czech friends who began to learn calculus + advanced geometry in grade school.

Your statement is really just racism.

It sounds to me like the original poster was referencing a COUNTRY and/or CULTURE and not a RACE, and they were not even stating anything derogatory. Racism is a belief that one race is inherently superior to another due to innate characteristics of that race and not traits that are common due to cultural reasons. Forgive me for failing to see all of that in his post.

Of course it wasn't really there was it? Isn't it true, Globhead, that you knew that from the start and simply had an emotional, knee-jerk reaction to his post and due to a lack of substance behind your reaction you brought out the "racism" card to guilt and shame them into silence? Why did you stop your libelous assault there? Why not accuse them of other grossly misuse...

That's a big long excuse for his conversion of a patent lawsuit into an "us vs. them". Sure, he worded it as a nationality, but the gratuity of it makes it obvious.

And no, racism is not just about superiority. It's about the insistence that there be a division and conflict along those lines. There are plenty of racists who will admit that they are less concerned with which race is better and primarily concerned that their own members not support the other group. "Well I guess you must be a Korean-lover" is exactly the sort of response they would make when someone else takes the "wrong" racial side even when logic/law agrees.

You think that supporting Apple is American? You know that Apple is pretty much a Chinese company, right?

Company is still based in the US. It's the iPhone 4 & iPad 2. Kinda pointless. Big win Samsung. Lol

Well you would be surprised how much those two devices are still being sold in the USA and other countries alike. Something like this really hurts a company specially when their sales numbers are already declining for the iPhone. iPad is still holding on to number 1 I think.

What in the world makes you think that the sales numbers for the iPhone is declining? They have gained a lot of marketshare in the US the past 6 months according to comScore.

LOL as opposed to China? Get over yourself. Apple is thought up in the US and built in China, that hardly makes it American in my view, sorry.

I totally agree with you. If you want to call yourself American, or really a part of any other country, you have to have the main part of your business based there.

If you call yourself an American company, but when asked "what products do you manufacture in that country?" and the answer being None, then I would disagree, no, you are not an american company.
