Sprint Begins Selling EV-DO Card
What is a EV-DO card?
EV-DO is equivalant to broadband speeds.
If you're using it through a EV-DO card to your laptop, yes they will charge extra. But im pretty sure if your phone has it theres no extra charge for it.

Verizon charges extra for EV DO functionality...why wouldn't Sprint?
And don't go into details of how VZW is better than Sprint in other ways, the focus here is EV-DO.

Umm, maybe to offer something a little better than Sprint does. Free..... Not Free. What sounds more appealing?

I meant to say to offer something a little better than VZW does.
HeroPsychoDreamer said:Ah, now I get you. Don't expect Sprint to just switch customers from Vision 1xRTT to Vision EV DO without a price hike.HeroPsychoDreamer said:

And why would I go into details of how VZW is better than Sprint in other ways...and why are you bringing that up? I didn't say zip.

Actually, Verizon doesn't. EV-DO costs the same as 1xRTT...you just have to have the right equipment.

But, if you are looking for the fastest high-speed data, Verizon has it now, but I'd check if they have it in your market first.
There's also Cingular, with EDGE, not as fast as EV-DO but it's fast. Cingular offers, in my opinion, cooler phones that actually have fully enabled Bluetooth. But if that cool gadetry of a phone isn't as important as high speed data, I'd say Verizon is the way to go. Just my opinion.
I am mainly looking for fully enabled bluetooth to go "mobile" on my laptop. I don't need this capability on a regular basis and not enough to buy a EV-DO phone card for my computer.
But it would be a great thing to have through my phone if I need it. I don't have to have the highest data rate. But since EDGE and EV-DO are just here and growing, I'd rather get on the bandwagon now... or hang onto Sprint with my Treo and change a year or so from now.

Good luck and best regards,

I waited almost a year to get the new Treo 650 hoping to be "up with the times" and already I'm behind the curve. Sounds like I'll have to be happy with Vision-download rates for the time being and the work-arounds for DUN that I've heard about. And maybe I won't take a 2 year plan next time. The discount I got from that is not necessarily worth the boxed in situation I'm in now.

Tons of tips, news, product info, maps, etc. The site isn't setup to sell you anything, just put out good EVDO information.
