What is a EV-DO card?

What's it for? What's it do?
EV-DO is CDMA high speed data. A EV DO card is like a network card that plugs into your laptop and allows you to connect to the internet anywhere in Sprints/Verizons coverage area, which is quickly expanding.

What's the point of launching an EV-DO card if you don't even offer the service yet and aren't going to for another half a year? Sounds pretty senseless and pointless to me.

Let's think about it. What use would it be for Sprint to launch their EV-DO service with no one being able to use it? Getting the equipment out *before* the launch, as soon as EV-DO goes live, there's an instant customer base using the product.

What are you guys griping about? This sounds like a smart, customer-centered decision for once.

Pretend you need a wireless card NOW - and all they have is the normal 1xRTT. So you buy it (there goes a chunk of cash) and in six months a much faster...

Since the launch of Verizon's EV-DO network, I'm selling on average 4-5 EV-DO cards a week, just as a indirect dealer. I can only imagine what the corporate stores are doing here in Orlando. Sprint could be trying to hold off potential customers from ...
