7100g vs. Treo 650

OK...so I love the 7100 looks and small size. What I don't love is the lack of 3rd party apps that could make it a fully functional PDA.

I love the power of the 650 but I am not a big fan of the size, looks, or price.

Anybody want to comment? If I just want to do some email is it worth it to do the 650? Anybody hate/love either one??

Thanks!
Anybody? Is there really any difference between style ones from the 7100g and the 7100t? I think I am leaning towards the 7100t...

sweet, but how will cingular srew it up.

sweet. this is the answer ive been looking for. i was about to bite on the mpx220. however with all the discourse about it, i was having 2nd thoughts. in comes the 7100g. im not new to BBs so i know what to expect. good build quality and rock solid OS.

my concerns:

1.will cingular disable the HTML browser like they did with the 7290 blackberry?

2. will u still have to pay the $49.99 ultd BB data, or will they let the $24.99 ultd data plan fly under their new febuary data plans?
i don't know about the browser, but cingular has said it will be launched with the $49 unlimited blackberry plan, not the $25 unlimited media works plan.
...
To answer your questions:

1. Yes, they have disabled HTML browsing
&
2. Yes, you will still have to pay the $49.99 for unlimited BB data. The $24.99(blue) or $19.99(orange) plans won't work for the Blackberry.

I am using an unlocked 7100T on cingular right now. I downloaded this browser and it's full html and works 100%. Best of all it has a free trial and it's only 30 bucks.

great news for me

🙂 i think this might just make up for my long wait fo the motorola a630.
I am having second thoughts about whihc phone to have.
Good luck with whichever one you get! This new BlackBerry looks sweet though, I'm not fan of them, they're really not for me because I just don't need anything like them. But this phone looks cool 😁

Interesting design

This is a unique design that still has all the software features of a normal blackberry but incased in a phone-like exterior.
The things I appreciate about this style is that it is way easier to place a call and it feels much better in your hands.
Unfortunately, the disadvantages keeps me from using one of these devices. I pesonally prefer the QWERTY keyboard because I am an avid e-mail user. I have used both devices and even though, the 7100 is able to predict a lot of the words, there are still times i have to go back to edit. Obviously this would not happen on a QWERTY interface because no prediction is necessary. I understand that the predictive typing becomes more intelligent over time but it still would not be able to compete. ...

Heh, when the backlight is on the screen IS black.. They turn off at the same time.

Just FYI.
Overall a nice device to have if you are more phone then e-mail intensive.
? This is an emailer's dream. Push email from up to 10 accounts all over EDGE? Zing!

14th?

I look a look at Cingular's website and there's the new Blackberry.
today is only the 11th. the blackberry will not be available until the 14th. unlike some other carriers, cingular does not put phones on their website before launch.

But will they beat TMobile's BBerry Plan?

I personally like the looks of it better and cingular has better coverage, but until they can beat the tmobile 1000 anywhere minutes + unlimited bberry mail for $59.99, i don't think anybody can offer a better bberry plan.
nope, cingular is too arrogant to compete
