February 14, Cingular will launch a version of the RIM Blackberry 7100 phone. Like other Blackberry 7100 models, the 7100g features a small form factor with a 20 key keyboard and SureType predictive text, as well as Quad band GSM/GPRS and Bluetooth, however it will have a different body style than other 7100 models in North America. After rebates, Cingular will offer the Blackberry for $249 with a two year contract.

7100g vs. Treo 650
I love the power of the 650 but I am not a big fan of the size, looks, or price.
Anybody want to comment? If I just want to do some email is it worth it to do the 650? Anybody hate/love either one??
Thanks!

OK...so I love the 7100 looks and small size. What I don't love is the lack of 3rd party apps that could make it a fully functional PDA.

sweet, but how will cingular srew it up.
my concerns:
1.will cingular disable the HTML browser like they did with the 7290 blackberry?
2. will u still have to pay the $49.99 ultd BB data, or will they let the $24.99 ultd data plan fly under their new febuary data plans?
1. Yes, they have disabled HTML browsing

2. Yes, you will still have to pay the $49.99 for unlimited BB data. The $24.99(blue) or $19.99(orange) plans won't work for the Blackberry.

Interesting design
The things I appreciate about this style is that it is way easier to place a call and it feels much better in your hands.
Unfortunately, the disadvantages keeps me from using one of these devices. I pesonally prefer the QWERTY keyboard because I am an avid e-mail user. I have used both devices and even though, the 7100 is able to predict a lot of the words, there are still times i have to go back to edit. Obviously this would not happen on a QWERTY interface because no prediction is necessary. I understand that the predictive typing becomes more intelligent over time but it still would not be able to compete. ...

Just FYI.
Overall a nice device to have if you are more phone then e-mail intensive.? This is an emailer's dream. Push email from up to 10 accounts all over EDGE? Zing!
But will they beat TMobile's BBerry Plan?
