Nokia has made a number of tools available to Qt developers in order to help them transition their Symbian applications to Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 platform. The most important piece of the package is the the addition of Symbian Qt to the Windows Phone API mapping tool. The tool focuses on the core libraries for Qt 4.7 for Symbian and how to use them to transition to WP7. In an effort to help developers further with their app transitions, Nokia is also holding a series of developer roadshows throughout Europe, the U.S., and Asia. Microsoft and Nokia both hope that developers who have spent time creating Qt-based applications for Nokia's Symbian platform will support Nokia's shift to Windows Phone 7.
