iPhone HotSpot Feature to Cost $20 per Month

Verizon Wireless spokesperson Brenda Raney confirmed for MacWorld today that the iPhone's mobile hotspot feature will cost $20 above the $30 data plan. Verizon charges this same fee for other hotspot-creating smartphones.

I find it extremely comical 🤣 as well as tragic 😢 that there will be more than enough people that will pay out the 😲 for every revenue mongering feature that carriers throw at them. Even those that are not at all necessary.

Maybe people want to use the mobile hotspot feature. Just because you don't need it doesn't mean other people don't.
A mobile hotspot could be very useful in places where one has Verizon coverage but no WiFi or very weak and unreliable WiFi.

Maybe, but I am sure that would violate Verizon's terms of use, and they will almost certainly know about it. I would need to read the T&C's, but I would be surprised if the penalty for that is anything other than immediate cancellation of your accou...
you could do that, but Verizon reserves the right to terminate your line if you're tethering without paying for it.
