Qualcomm Announces BREW 3.0

Qualcomm yesterday announced version 3.0 of its BREW client for mobile phones. New features include support for removable memory cards, secondary displays, and external devices via serial connections or USB. The new version also includes auto-install and upgrade features allowing carriers to push new and updated applications directly to phones. The company also announced version 3.0 of its BREW SDK for developers. The SDK is available now, and phones incorporating the 3.0 client are expected to reach the market by summer 2004.
