FCC Approves Sprint / Clearwire Merger

Today the FCC approved the proposed merger of Sprint's WiMax business and WiMax provider Clearwire. Sprint and Clearwire will pool resources and the resources of companies such as Intel, Google and Microsoft to build a high-speed wireless network using WiMax technology. The merger has already been approved by the Department of Justice.

I guess it's time to leave Clearwire....

A socialist wins the presidency and Sprint "merges" with Clearwire. What else could go wrong? 👿

Now my clearwire bill will be messed up.

BUT .....

IPCS has already filed their standard emergency injunction in Chicago area US district court to block it.

Why?

because it believes Sprint/clearwire would be infringing on the contract they have that ensures sprint will not compete for wireless in IPCS markets ... again....


jeez would sprint just cut the check and buy them out already?
Don't you think that has already been tried? IPCS might just might be waiting to jack up the cost of being bought out. Then who do you think will have to bear the cost? 👿
Should be fun to watch. They already tried to do this when they first announced intention to do this. The FCC however, has decided that the new clearwire will not compete directly with any similar technlology currently in existance, including a prod...

The FCC seems to be on a roll lately 😁
This is a major step for Sprint/clearwire. I too am very excited about this. Once again Sprint is in the forefront of developing the future.
