Asus has unveiled its newest ROG Phone. The ROG Phone 7 is a flagship-class phones with all the bells and whistles gamers expect on a top-end gaming phone. Key improvements over the previous model include a display that's twice as bright and a redesigned internal cooling system that "increases heat dissipation efficiency by up to 168%, allowing the ROG Phone 7 series to run games at full speed while maintaining low temperatures." The speakers are also 50% louder. Naturally, the phone features the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip. The phone comes with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM and up to 512 GB UFS 4.0 storage. The 6.78-inch Samsung OLED display has 165 Hz refresh, 720 Hz touch sampling, 1,500 nits peak brightness, HDR10, and is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. The 6000 mAh battery supports 65-watt charging for a full charge in 42 minutes. The phone supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, and NFC. The 50 megapixel Sony main camera is joined by a 13 megapixel wide camera, 5 megapixel macro camera, and 32 megapixel front camera. The body is rated IP54 for dust and water. As expected in a gaming phone, there are dual front-facing speakers, a headset jack, and dual USB-C ports (bottom and side, for charging while gaming). The standard model comes in either black or white and will ship by the middle of the year, starting at $1,000. An Ultimate edition adds "ROG Vision, a unique matrix color display on the rear" and comes only in white.
