Is It Your Type? Body The Three S's

The LG Rumor brings a full QWERTY keyboard and messaging services to the masses in a stylish and compact package. Find out what its strengths and weaknesses are in our full-length review.

The name of this LG phone makes sense when you think about its main function: Messaging. Not that any of you would stoop to Rumor mongering via phone (wink, wink), but this compact little slider from LG is a robust QWERTY-equipped, smartphone alternative. If you're about basic messaging functionality and don't need all the bells and whistles of a smartphone, the Rumor gets the job done. For more details on why, read on.

Picture ID

I FTPed the pictures from my old phone to my Rumor, but I can not set them as Picture ID.

Has anyone else run into this problem?

The pictures I take with the camera will set no problem

Unfortunate

I actually had one of these for about 4 days.

I had intended to get it and sell it to someone else (once I had gotten myself a 6800), but I couldn't even do that to my friend.

Reason is, it's a messaging phone. Fine.

The Facebook application is kind of nice, but it's not accompanied by its sister site, MySpace. Actually checking for MySpace using the phone's RTT browser does nothing for the Rumor, either.

When you use AOL Messenger, two things happen when you're not actively using the AIM application. First (and most annoying), every time you get an IM, a text message is sent to your phone. Even if you could turn this option off, it's annoying enough for me to have turned it off in (literally) 9 minutes. Second, the notificat...

so there is no way you can change the volume for AIM notfication?

Need help with a rumor

I bought two Rumor's yesterday for my wife and I. I told the sprint rep that I need to use mine for work. I travel residentially and need access to Mapquest or a Nav system. Nav isn't neccessary, I can do what I need to do with a map such as mapquest. I also need to get emails and access the internet and view websites. My wife uses texting features a lot, emails a lot, and calls a lot, but doesn't really use the internet other than for email. He suggested the rumor and the everything plan. Now, I'm home working with the phones and reading the phone scoop review and having some difficulty.
1) sucks that I can't use an MP3 as a ring tone, but not a deal breaker.
2) When I go to a website like youtube it says not enough memory. Huh?
3) ...

2) The Rumor is not fit for video, therefore you can't watch Utube videos or any other videos.
3) This is not a power vision phone, so you will only have the regular vision, which is much slower.
4) There is a program you can download called Opera M...

Quick SMS Messaging

😁 First off I want to say that I love the new rumor. It's possibly the best phone I have ever owned. But to contradict what was said in the review about the quickest way to send a SMS Text Message. I found that as a factory pre-set on my phone that if I hit the up button the D-pad it sent my straight to my send a message screen and all I had to do was find the person I wanted to send the message too. If that person wasn't one of the last 10-15 people I sent a message too the first option was to go to contacts. Again this is the best phone that I have ever had. And if I had to complain any at all it would be over the sound of the speaker which isn't too loud. Which makes it hard to hear the ringer in loud places. And no flash on the camera. ...

im BLUE

who would want a phone that turns every immage a different shade of blue... ti would make me throw up!
Errrrr... What are you talking about?? Are you basing that statement on the pictures of the screen that were posted on this website? Take the time to look at a phone before you make thoughtless statements.
