Helio today is launching the Fin, Helio's first flip phone. It is based on Samsung's Ultra series clamshell, like Sprint's M610 and AT&T's A717, but even thinner at 11.4 mm and with an upgraded 3 megapixel camera.

Samsung this week announced the thinnest clamshell to date, a 9.9 mm thick D830. In addition to the slim form, the D830 2 Megapixel camera, 80 MB of memory, Micro SD slot, Bluetooth and a media player.

CAT has a new rugged phone for T-Mobile. It's a rugged flip phone, but that's not the most interesting thing about it.

There have been a number of "smartwatches" for kids in recent years. They all have GPS and let you keep tabs on your kid's location, and offer some limited forms of communication.
