Is It Your Type? Body Three S's

Dec 28, 2006, 3:36 AM   by Eric Lin

Our in depth review of Cingular's slimmest 3G phone yet.

Cingular had a rocky start launching its 3G service. Although the network was capable of high speeds from the beginning, the first round of 3G handsets were not. It took another round of handsets to take advantage of Cingular's HSDPA advancements, and a third round introduced this fall finally brings slim designs and modern features to the 3G network.

The Samsung Sync is the flagship of Cingular's 3G. It is packed with a number of high end features and is the first handset to take advantage of Cingular's music service as well as offer high speed access to the 3G network.

Despite all this technology, it is easy enough to use that its appeal is not limited to gadget geeks alone.

Open/Close & Keypad Tones - Arghhhh

Is there anyway to get rid of the tones that play when you open/close the phone and the keytones? They're sooooo loud. I use my phone quite a bit at work and everyone knows it b/c of the annoying sounds it makes.

Otherwise the phone is great so far. I've only had it for a couple of hours, and I'm eager to use all the functions.
Go to menu, Settings, Profiles. The phone is originally set on the normal profile. You then need to press the left soft key labeled 'options', then edit. From there you will see the three different menus on the right. Move over to the phone symbol...

nice phone

I've seen better 🙂
I have worked in the cellular industry for about 7 years, and I have used a lot of high-end phones. This one, however, tops them all.

There were a few "CONs" in the review, and I'd like to address a couple of them.

I will agree that some applic...

I agree with your review 100%

I agree with your review 100% as this phone does SO much cool stuff, but the lack of multi tasking and loud speakerphone really kill it for me. If only Nokia would put HSDPA 850 in the N95............
whats the deal with the 3g networks? what's so great about that?

wrong phone on home page

The phone on the home page shows the LG CU500, not the Samsung A707.
Disregard... I only looked at the pic for like 2 seconds before coming to my conclusion. The bottom part of the two phones can look similar and I got confused. I hate myself.
