The FCC last week issued a grant to Hop-On Wireless for the first disposable digital cell phone in the U.S. The phone is a single-mode CDMA 800 MHz device, designed to be used exclusively with a headset. The device lacks a display, but does feature a dedicated "911" button for emergencies, in addition to a traditional phone keypad.
