for the Samsung Katalyst SGH-T739:
Good UMA Phone, limited music player
This phone works quite nicely with my Wifi network. The phone makes for an overall nicer user experience than the t409, which my wife has for the UMA service. Most people who purchase this phone are not really looking to replace their standalone mp3 players. This is good, as the music player limits you to 30 songs per playlist, with only four playlists. This means I frequently switch out songs in my playlist. I ...

for the Samsung SGH-T219:
Good basic phone for basic phone users
We have two of these phones, one for my mother, and one as my backup phone. This phone is good for users like my mom that need basic phones that simply work well. Both of our phones are the newer t219s, which include the T-Mobile network address book backup feature, which works automatically (good for my mom, as I can login to my.t-mobile.com and add contacts to her address book for her). The updated t219s also ...

for the Nokia 1600:
A great basic Nokia!
I am using this phone with Net10. I am in Oklahoma City, and the phone uses Cingular's network. It has been available for Net10 since around October 2006. Before trying the 1600, I tried many of the Motorola phones Net10 has to offer. The 1600 beats them all in terms of signal quality and earpiece sound quality. It also lasts about 10-12 days on a charge for me with about 60 minutes of talk ...

for the Samsung SGH-T629:
Better than expected
I have used the t629 for a couple of weeks on the T-Mobile network. After reading how some found the phone to have poor reception, I compared it to the Nokia 6030. I am using it in Oklahoma City, which has a relatively good build-out for T-Mobile's network. I have found a few poor signal areas, which provided a good opportunity to compare the reception of the two phones. I found them to have very ...

for the Motorola V176:
v176 for Tracfone/Net10
I purchased the v176 (Net10) over the 4th of July weekend from Wal-Mart for $88. It is basically an improved v170 or v171. Improvements include a much better display, better feeling keys, better ringtones, speaker phone, and a modern user interface. (The user interface resembles what you find on new Motorola phones for contract plans. A big improvement over the v170 user interface.) The earpiece sounds the same as the v170, not quite as ...
