Thin, professional-looking, and cheap
I got a refurbished phone for my GoPhone account. Pros: -This is the only GoPhone I've used where you can silence the notification noise when AT&T tells you the cost of the last transaction. This is a huge win, but it also silences SMS notifications. -It looks cool and at my workplace, where Blackberries are everywhere, I fit right in. -AT&T has created a new network profile so your account does not get charged as much little things like instant messenger updates. -Instant ...
Good gimmick, lousy signal, lousy sound, bad camera
T-Mobile had a fire sale on these in the Prepaid section so I gave it a try. The phone looks nice and has a neat sliding gimmick but its flaws outweight the gimmicks. Pro: Post-modern slider. Bluetooth. Fantastic recessed keypad. Very thin for a slider. Synchronizes with some sort of internet-based calendar. Really, really large, bright, and clear screen, though it is a low resolution for its size. The slider is really neat. Con: A little wider than most. Earpiece has a very hard to find "sweet spot" or ...
Impossibly small and light, slow operation
I got this from Radio Shack who were running a promotion on AT&T GoPhone. There it's also called the "Samsung Checker" which is a name I do not understand, but for less than fifteen dollars, I figured that I'd give this prepaid a try, and maybe get a better phone number while I'm at it. Pros: Impossibly small and light--almost like Zoolander's phone. Very durable outer case. Feels very solidly built, even though it's so light. Great sound, and speakerphone is unheard of ...
Heavy, Fragile, Slow
This is my first Motorola after a long line of prepaid LG, Samsung, Pantec, Nokia, and Sony Ericsson phones on both T-Mobile and AT&T/Cingular. It is a huge disappointment how primitive and outdated Motorola equipment has become compared to virtually everything else. PROs: -It has a good radio which is important for 1900 MHz-only T-Mobile. -Keys are easy to use. -It looks good (see Cons). -Relatively long battery life compared to the rest. -Lots of loud and good ringers. -Handy external mini-screen shows everything you ...
Classy, elegant, stable, but cheap screen
This is a very small phone--much smaller than any other Nokia I have seen. The screen is high-resolution but very poor quality. I got it specifically to try out the Cingular network (and it's the winner by far in Northern VA). The phone has excellent reception, though not as stable as the larger Nokias are. The 3120 makes up for this by using the new Adaptive Multi-Rate voice codec. This coded gets much better sound on poor ...
