Don't give up just yet.
How cool is this thing or what? Even in an edge coverage area this little bugger is quite speedy. In response to some earlier reviews that weren't too favorable I say this. Any new electronic device is gonna have a few issues (look at the early Playstation consoles that were catching on fire)in no time at all these bugs will be worked out. Finally a worthwhile Audiovox. It has been better than 3 years since the folks at Audiovox has put out a worthwhile phone. With the exception the unorthodox way of activating the speaker phone, I find the 8410 to be a pretty good phone over all. Also I feel that the ring volume could be a smidge higher. The size is just right for putting in the pocket. Unfortunately the key spacing and shape of the keys often causes mis-dialing. ...

for the LG VX-10:
One outstanding phone
As a wireless consultant for U.S. Cellular I have seen a lot of bad phones over the past four years ( i.e motorola v-120 kyocera 2135 and who could forget the Audiovox 130 ) But every once in a while a phone comes along that just blows every other phone away. NOT SUCKY
Contrary to many beliefs about antenna-less phones this phone does have outstanding reception even in not so strong signal areas. Sound quality is decent. The two problems I can see in this phone ( both inherited from the parent companies ) are as follows: The goofy menu which is totally Ericsson. The Battery design which is totally Sony.
