The old Sidekick 2's could be sim unlocked, but these new Sidekick 3's CANNOT be unlocked. There is no reason on Earth you would need to, simply because the Sidekick data service is exclusive to T-Mobile only and forever! I had a friend who got an unlocked SK2 and was able to use it with Cingular, but he was only able to make and receive calls (no data service at all). Enjoy.

I guess the question of the 850mhZ band has been answered ("Yes"). But here's clarification that since the Sidekick 3 is exclusive to T-Mobile, the SIM unlock code will not be available at all! Anyone wanting to get this device unlocked will have to find some kind of software hack for it. But then again, T-Mobile's policies are based on politics and not on intelligence or logic so anything could happen...

The SK3 will not have video record or playback capablities - BUT! There's always a BUT! But, since the SK3 supports OTA (over the air) service upgrades, video capabilites may be available at a later date (probably for a fee!) Enjoy!

Aroha! T-Mobile will eventually release a SK3 prepaid kit but not on July 10. The SK3 prepaid kit will most likely be available sometime arounf Sept or Oct. But you will be able to purchase the SK3 as an un-bundled prepaid kit (eg: $400 for the SK3 + $50 for the prepaid activation). This will depend on the avaialbility of the SK3 at each store and per the manager's discretion. But if you live ...

There is a Sidekick only plan for $29.99/mo. This plan is just like the sidekick add-on feature for $19.99/mo but the Sidekick only plan does not include any voice minutes (voice-barred). This will include unlimited email, text messaging, IM, and web browsing! Enjoy!

Depending on the size and productivity of the store, anywhere from 50-100 sk3's will be delivered to each store. But it'll be first come-first served! :lol:
