There is a pretty signficant learning curve , but once done, it is pretty awesome.
Strong Points:
Motorola makes great phones
Call quality awesome, first phone can talk at home in 10 years.
Speakerphone loud
bluetooth awesome, especially in car,
Voice dialing by names, or numbers easy and no training needed.
Easy to enter contact information
Can call numbers from emails, task list, calendar.
Email is fast as is internet, checking movies, mapquest, some sites aren't pda so they don't show up the same way as with your ...

Battery fine for normal use. Make sure it is charged all the way and then used up all the way and then charged again. I got a lot more use the second day of charging.
I charge it everyday, which is fine for me and got the car charger.
And what do you want a laptop. Then go get one them and lug that baby around!!
No problems on this phone. amazing things, quick internet, check banking, pay bills, ...

Look at all the other carriers charging by the MB and message. Verizon is so bad $109.00/month for 1350 anytime, free in service, and free nites and weekends, 3 way, etc, and unlimited data and web. You must be joking!
Air time is not cheap and why not pay the extra? Or go to blackberry!

Where are the voice independent phones with Qwerty. Full Qwerty! not 2 per key. No such thing with Blackberry. Nokia, E61, Samsung one, others barely one.
Go to Motorola's site for tips on how to use the phone better. My second time using the phone, I really got a better sense of what it could do. No touchscreen which I like for certain applications, but the voice independent is awesome and works with Bluetooth. That alone ...

It is a phone and Palm is a good pda, it doesn't have great voice independent software and I hear the 3rd party is not so great. Q's is awesome!! You are getting away from the true purpose of the Q i think, which is phone stuff, not so much pda stuff like the palm.
