The computer being "approx. 3 years old" may not have USB 2.0 on it, which xfers data at 480 MBps. In that case, going into the BIOS and turning it on may not be possible, since it typically comes turned on automatically. You may need to check with Dell and see if a Bios update (flash) is available to add the newer functionality, but its a long shot. You probably have USB 1.0 or 1.1 which only operates at 12 ...

It really depends on the ringtone I've learned. I downloaded some simple ones that are really quiet even on the highest volume setting and some that are really loud at that volume. I don't quite understand why the difference.

I'm not sure but I think the cable is all by itself, without the drivers. Atleast that is what I see in the photo. Is there someplace I can download the drivers separately?

I have access to a wholesale catalog and can but the USB cable for my a950 phone for just $5.49. My question is can I use this to sync music to my phone or do I need to buy the Music Essentials disk & cable anyways in order to get drivers?

Mary Thanks for the note, but I'm really lazy and don't want to create the ringtones myself. I just want some simple cute sounds like what my other phone had. Ken

I've had the phone for a week now, and I'm truly disappointed by the lack of useful ringtones included in the phone. My old V60 came with a bunch of simple ringtones that were loud enough to get my attention. The a950 didn't come with ringers that are loud and I haven't been able to download a ringer that is loud to be heard all the time. I've had to turn on Vibrate for all rings and that helps. Anyone that ...

Okay, I got the phone and pretty happy with it. However, I noticed there are only about 6 ringtones. My old Motorola V60 atleast came with some basic rings and alerts that were useful. How can I easily get some decent ones on my phone? Easy and free would be good.

Does anyone know if you can synchronize MS Outlook calendar with the calendar in the a950 phone? Does anyone know if you can add a software package to get access to Exchange email using Outlook Web Access servers? If so, how do you do it? Ken

815 durability? (ie cracking at hinge???)

Does anyone know about the long term durability of the 815? I currently have the V60S and want to upgrade to a new phone and like the 815. I want to make sure that it is not susceptible to the same cracking along the hinge area at the bottom of the display. I have two V60s and they've been replaced 3 times each in the past 2 years.
