You can put music on without the essential music kit. You need Windows Media Player 10. Open the mp3 in WMP10 and Sync it to your transflash card, then open Windows Explorer and move the file(s) you synced to your transflash card to the Music directory on the card. That is all you need to do. Good luck!

Make sure all the songs are in the music directory on the transflash card and also, I'm not certain but if a song has a very long title the I think the phone won't recognize it - shorten (rename) a few of the longer titles and see if that helps. Good luck!
