Beware the glass back
Nov 10, 2017, 11:49 AM

Reports have come in that dropping an iPhone X from as small as one foot off the ground can cause the glass back to shatter. This would be a design flaw

I would love to have the iPad mini or the Kindle Fire HDX 7" have phone capability. Having an all in one device would be fantastic.

Re: sooo what!

When I was using Android phones, it seemed that after a few minor updates (i.e. 2.0 to 2.1 or 2.2) then the phone couldn't be updated anymore to the newest OS because of hardware limitations. This would occur within a year or so of the phone coming out. Also Android is much buggier than the iPhone. With my Android, I would have to turn off the phone every couple of days in order to get good performance out of ...

Re: Buy iPhone 4 from Best Buy Mobile or Verizon?
May 14, 2011, 10:53 PM
in the Apple iPhone 4 (CDMA) forum

I also bought at Best Buy and at the time they threw in the Buy Back Protection Plan free. One caveat, in order to get the full price of the buy back that they told you, you will need ALL of the original equipment, manuals, and box, otherwise you will get less than what they advertised.

Re: Talking and surfing
Feb 28, 2011, 3:37 PM
in the Apple iPhone 4 (CDMA) forum

That was brought up by a friend of mine when I told him I was switching back to an iPhone (had it on AT&T but hated the dropped calls and call quality). I had the HTC EVO 4G for about eight months and during that entire time I never wanted or needed to talk and surf at the same time. How many times a year do I NEED to use this? Maybe once. How many times do I want to ...

Re: Battery Life

in the Apple iPhone 4 (CDMA) forum

The battery life on mine is excellent. I have rearely gone below 60% for a normal days use (a few phone calls, lots of text and email, and a couple of hours of internet usage). I also leave my GPS on but turn off my wi-fi when I am at work. I work ten hour days so I am off the charger for about tweleve hours total.

Re: What is the Scoop on Reception?
Feb 16, 2011, 10:48 AM
in the Apple iPhone 4 (CDMA) forum

The reception on the iPhone with Verizon is exceptional. I had the iPhone on AT&T but left the service due to the dropped calls. I also carry the Convoy on Verizon for my work. COmparing the Convoy on Verizon with the iPhone, the iPhone wins hands down. I have yet to miss a call on my iPhone (on my Convoy I constantly have calls go straight to voice mail). The reception on this iPhone makes this THE phone to get. The ...

Re: Tried the EVO 4G...Switching back to iPhone 4
Jan 18, 2011, 11:29 AM
in the HTC EVO 4G forum

After seven months of using the EVO 4g, I too will be switching back to the iPhone. The usability of the EVO is very hampered. I continually get the text wrong (due to auto correction) where in the iPhone I rarely had a problem entering text. I have also started to have problems with apps just starting to do things on their own (my profiles app has occasionally put my phone into silent mode). The OS is just ...

Roaming
Dec 10, 2009, 3:25 PM
in the HTC Touch Pro2 (CDMA) forum

I assume that this will roam on either Sprint or Verizons network even if you are on the other. If I go overseas with it, am I able to use a carriers sim card from over there or do I have to use Verizons/Sprints overseas access (and subsequently pay an arm and a leg for it)?

Does this sync up with Google contacts and email?

Apps on the Droid
Nov 6, 2009, 6:24 PM
in the Motorola Droid forum

I am considering getting this phone but the apps are what is keeping me on the iPhone. Where can I find a list of all the apps? Does it store the apps on the memory card so I can have it up to 32gb like my iPhone? Will it play all my songs that I have in my iTunes folder? Can I access and download TV shows and movies and watch them when I fly? Please if anyone can point me ...

Just now active. Click on you text message button and then select new. You will see a camera about mid page. Click on that and you have the option to either take a photo and send it or use on already on your phone.

iPhone on Verizon anytime soon?
Sep 20, 2009, 11:45 AM
in the Apple iPhone 3GS forum

I love my iPhone but I am not that happy with AT$T. I had heard rumors that Verizon was going to carry the iPhone sometime in the future. Anyone hear any supposed dates? iPhone with Verizon's reliability is too much to pass up. I will jump ship in a heart beat. The ONLY thing keeping me on AT$T is the iPhone.

Summer is over and fall starts the latter part of september I believe. I seriously doubt AT&T will have it together by that time.

Re: How is the reception ??

I had the 3G and I am fortunate that I live in an area with great reception. At my work however, there are areas that do have some difficulty. The 3G performed well even in these areas. I upgraded to the 3GS and my home reception has not changed. However at work I did notice that in some of those problem areas, my phone went into Edge (which it had rarely done before). There were even a couple of times ...

Why is this the best app ever? It seems to me that if you can look up payphones on your iPhone, then you can just use your iPhone to call and you don't need this app. Unless you can explain why you think this is the best app ever, then yes I would consider you a troll.

I am by no means an Apple fanatic but the increased data speed for the new phone is the main reason I will get it. I use my phone to access the internet and email rather than carrying a laptop. Faster speeds is of prime importance to me.

I believe that T-Mobiles' 3G network works on a different frequency than AT&Ts'. Besides T-Mo has terrible 3g coverage.

Googles hosted domain
Nov 8, 2008, 7:12 AM
in the HTC G1 forum

A quick question, does the G1 allow you to use Googles hosted domain? I use google to host my domain and therefore my email and calendar. It has the exact same interface as gmail does and runs using googles server and software, it uses my domain instead of the gmail suffix. Anyone have any experience with this?

Sprint vs VZW

I was hoping there would be a default setting for each one to use the cell phone number when doing text messaging (since you can't really text a landline). Oh well, I will have to go through all 90 of my contacts and make sure the cell phone is the default one. Thanks

Dare and GrandCentral
Aug 15, 2008, 10:14 PM
in the LG Dare VX-9700 forum

I use Grandcentral for all my telephone needs. How easy is it to use GrandCentral with the Dare? For those who don't know about GrandCentral, you have to press 1 to accept the call on that phone (you can set up other phone numbers and all will ring with the call). So how hard is it to push the number 1 when accepting an incoming call?

Re: Sprint or Verizon?: I might just stay on America's most reliable network
Jun 8, 2008, 10:10 PM
in the BlackBerry Curve 8330 forum

I was leary of Sprint because they seem to be having massive financial problems and have also laid off a bunch of employees. They are also looking to spin off their Nextel division. While I don't think they will go out of business, they do seem to be having some problems right now. Just this last week I called several Verizon outlets and each of them had the Curve in stock. I also have never had a problem with the ...
