This phone is actually an S4
Somebody screwed up writing the press release. According to Samsung's official specs, the CPU is an MSM8260A, which is definitely an S4.
Re: Thank you States (& DoJ)! Now America Movil, PLEASE buy TMO!
I think the best case scenario would be for a large land line carrier that does not currently have a cellular presence to buy T-Mobile. CenturyLink, maybe? They're currently listed as a dealer for VZW, but they could dump that.
Re: Open your eyes you sheeple
I think it also has something to do with the fact that T-Mobile and AT&T are the only large GSM cellular carriers left. There might be one or two small regional GSM carriers left, but if AT&T gets its mitts on T-Mobile, it will have pretty much a total GSM monopoly in the US. They'll get to determine which GSM handsets come out over here.
This is probably also the reason why Apple now sells factory unlocked GSM iPhones, but ...
Re: Moving games from memory card to phone?
I have all my games installed on the transflash card for portability. I don't want to lose them when I go to another phone. Once you set the phone to go to the transflash or internal memory, the phone will remember which one you were in so you don't have to switch back and forth. The card has a lot more space than the phone anyway. Just move your games to the card.
Key LED not working when buttons are pressed or phone opened
I know the LED works, since it comes on when I power on the phone, but it shuts off and does not come on when keys are pressed or the phone is opened. I've tried both a master clear and master reset, neither seems to work. Taking the battery out doesn't work either. Can anyone give any suggestions? I've had the phone less than a week.
Re: Unbranded V360 trouble: what to do?!
A carrier is usually not going to replace a phone that did not come from them. If it's unbranded, he will have a difficult time getting a replacement except through the place where he got it from, or directly from Motorola.
Need help deciding on a T-Mobile flip phone.
I work for a company that is a T-Mobile contractor, and am looking to get a new phone. Right now I have a Samsung v206, but I've been thinking of upgrading for awhile. My mom asked me the other day what the cheapest deal on a cell phone was, so I'm thinking I'll get a new phone and give the old one to her on a new line of service. Here are my top choices.
Motorola RAZR V3
Motorola V360 ...
Re: Verizon told me that you need a digital plan to use WI-FI
I know this thread is kind of old, but I thought I would add to it anyway.
Verizon requires that you have some kind of PDA/Smartphone data feature on your account. The billing system literally will not allow a PDA to be placed on the account without one. You can go with the 'pay as you go', but it charges $0.015 per kilobyte, which adds up quickly. In the sense of 'Do I have to have one to use Wi-Fi?' ...
Re: Samsung i730 to be replaced by Motorola Q ???
There has never been a Motorola PDA device offered by Verizon, so I wouldn't hold my breath.
Re: Crippled Wi-Fi, Verizon Style
Verizon had the Wi-Fi function on the i730 crippled because if you could have the Wi-Fi and CDMA antenna on at the same time, you can use it to get online with a laptop or other Wi-Fi device. Also, since the phone is EVDO capable, you'd be getting broadband speeds on said device for $45 a month. They want you to buy an aircard and the $80 (currently $60 on special) a month EVDO data package. I mean, given ...
Re: Verizon Pricing
The price for the phone is $450 with one year contract and $399 with a two year contract. That's not full retail price. Full retail price is much higher. It's difficult to pin down prices on new phones due to the fact that most of the prices that you see require contracts. Note that the company doesn't pay full retail, they order thousands of phones from palmOne (and others) and so get a discount.
Re: Verizon Pricing
Full retail price on the Treo 650 is over $800. The cellular company will sell a new or renewing customer the phone for a reduced price in exchange for a contract over which they expect to recoup the money lost selling the phone at a discount. If you are in contract, then they will not give you the discount because they already have you in the contract.
