Hi All! I'm considering getting the SMT 5600 but I read in one of these threads that in a few days, a newer phone will be coming out. Is this true? If so, what phone is it and when will it be available? Should I wait? Also, I believe I read on Amazon that the SMT 5600 does not automatically update when you travel thru time zones. Does anyone else find the Nokia PC Suite software user UNfriendly? Is there any useful documentation anywhere out there? Also, The cable and headset connectors seem hard to plug and unplug. Do you push straight in and pull straight out? Thanks in advance!

Automatic Volume Control

Page 100 of my 6230 User Guide describes a feature called Automatic Volume Control. However, I cannot find this feature in my phone menu. It simply is not where the guide says it should be (Settings>Call Settings>Automatic Volume Control). Is my phone retarded, or what? Anyone else have this problem?

Is anyone using a phone case for their 6230? I got the standard one from Cingular but I don't like it. Any suggestions? Body Glove?

It's one awesome phone. I've had motorolas for a while, so I'm having to get accustomed to the menus and such. It's easy to tell that it is a high-quality phone. I hope you get one soon.

Thanks for your opinion, I'm glad to hear you say the 6230 because I already picked one up. You probably don't want to hear this, but they had three of them in my local Cingular store (Pensacola, Florida). Anyway, I'm very happy with it and I hope you find one soon.

Airplane vs. MP3

:) Hello All, One reason I bought the 6230 is the MP3 player. One place I like to listen to MP3s is on an airplane. However, having a cell phone on during a plane trip is not allowed. Is there a way for my to safely disable the phone reception so that I can use it in-flight? Good question, yes?

Hi everyone - my recently new V400 gives me a start-up message that says "Insert SIM". This lasts for about three seconds, then I get the "Searching for Network" for a while, and then the phone is up and running. Is this "Insert SIM" message a glitch? BTW, I have tried adjusting the position of the SIM card, but that hasn't worked. Thanks in advance.

Hi everyone! I just migrated from AT&T to Cingular, and I am picking a new phone. I am trying to choose between the LG L1400, Motorola V551, and the Nokia 6230. One of my reasons for the Motorola candidate is that I currently have a Motorola for my work cell and keeping one type of charger laying around is desirable, but I am willing to consider other phones.
