OH MY GOSH! You poor reps. Everytime I think I have it hard, I think about you non-Cingular call centers. I don't know how you guys don't have giraffe blood pressures.
I know my cable company does those type of surveys at the end of the call and I think it is a waste and frankly embarrassing to have to answer them.

True, unless you have a supervisor who is afraid to credit anything, even if it is our fault. I feel like I have to bring an attorney with me to plead the customer's case to see if the high court (supe) will approve an exception. Then when she declines it, the customer escalates, she tells them no and then gets on to me for escalating the call. I can't tell you how many times this has happened.

Cool, our bass player came up with the name. He wanted Shagrin, but nobody liked that, so we chopped it to Grin, but then found out that there was a band in the 70's that was called Grin, led by Nils Lofgren. We changed it a couple of times, but then realized that we liked Grin the best and we'd never get famous anyway.

Yes, I suspect that AllTel will eventually switch the towers to CDMA, but by the time they do that, you will be out of contract and you can do what you like. You can switch to Cingular or whatever company you want. How much longer do you have on your contract?

Well, the good thing is even though AllTel bought the OKC market, I can still keep the ATT phone and plan that I have.

I have to agree with coldsteel. Unfortunately, not very many people know about the ATT loyalty team. We are few in number, but we can offer additional credits for long term ATT customers who are hesitant about switching.
That's why customers are getting 2 different stories.
I wish Cingular would send out an internal memo to all ATT and Cingular reps so that they would know we have that ability.
I know why they don't because people would abuse it, ...

I think it's hard to take 2 companies that are competing in this cellular market and force the employees to merge and suddenly love each other.
In a severe hypothetical, imagine Cingular buying Verizon or vice versa and on Day 1 everyone loves each other. Ain't gonna happen. This is the same thing. It'll take some time to build the love.

Not too many months ago, I was watching an old Doris Day movie, Moonlight Bay, with my daughter. The phone number on a realty sign was 4 digits long. I'm sure people complained about going to 7 digits too.
It's just a fact of life. There are so many numbers out there now. Soon, you will have to dial 10 digits for every number you dial.
