Not surprising.
Apparently a trend with cellphone manufacturers as well. Making sacrifices in small areas upon phone upgrades.
Motorola edge+ (2023)
More US carriers need to pick up this phone. The 2022 version Verizon picked up the Edge+ and it is a great phone. Shame the Galaxy/IPhone duopoly is so prevalent. The Google Pixel line is great as well.
Band 48
There is an article from June 14, 2022 stating that Verizon has successfully tested 5G using both PAL and GAA modes, giving Verizon users access to as much of band 48 as possible for 5G. Does that mean that T-Mobile and Verizon will be sharing 5G band 48???
Qualcomm
Finally, a decent processor for this type of phone.
Re: Why no Verizon?
Give them time. Foldable display tech really needs to show how good it is advancing. I saw other manufacturers with foldable displays and some are not that good.
Nokia US
It's a shame that such lower end models are being introduced into the US market.
Nokia makes incredible higher end and flagship models as well.
Sony
Sony phones don't get the exposure and recognition they deserve.
The Samsung/IPhone duopoly in the US market dominates.
I have seen Sony phones in use and they can compete equally with any Samsung/Iphone flagship.
T-Mobile plans
Over the years I have noticed that T-mobile is better for multi-line plans.
Single line plans are better with Metro.
Depends what the subscriber is looking for.
Thankfully T-mobile has what to choose from.
S23 Ultra
I've seen numerous side by side comparisons and testing of the S21, S22, S23 Ultra and other than some not really remarkable camera differences, and processor upgrades, these phones are essentially the same.
A42 5G
Though an oddball phone in the midrange Samsung lineup, I swear by it as a back-up.
I've read lots of bad reviews on other websites but notice none of them on this phone.
For the niche it is supposed to fill, it does very well. Too many people expected more from the type of phone.
Invisible
Really nice plan overhaul. Competitive for a Verizon subsidiary.
No live Reps. All on-line. Through their website and Facebook page.
Probably what keeps the price down.
Preferable to have a live rep when there are issues but I guess there's a sacrifice for their pricepoints.
Re: 5G
I thought so. Thanks for clarifying. I know it's N77 that is the mid-band.
Re: 5G
My error. I was thinking of the other mid-band 5G (band 77).
5G
Hopefully this phone has midband 5G, not the pseudo 5G joke that's sub-6
Re: A33
Thankfully after some more intensive checking, the A13 5G has one.
Re: A33
Shame that the headphone jack is lacking. Not everyone uses Bluetooth.
A33
Question: Will the A33 5g come with a headphone jack? Lack of one can be a deal breaker on a more budget conscious offer.
Worry about.....
They should concentrate on their spotty voice network.
Samsung Galaxy S8 active
4 years later and still going strong. Still a fairly competitive phone compared to many mid-rangers out there now. Other than the older processor, camera, UI, and Android P, this phone could still go with the best of them.
Just not cutting "Edge"
395ppi, LCD, IPX2 , single speaker? Asking way too much for the the type of pricepoint. This is like a midranger thinking it's a flagship.
Re: LTE / 5G real world support
I checked, the TCL 20 Pro 5G does not have support for AT&T 5G.
Re: T-Mobile Maps its Expanded High-Speed 5G Coverage
Check how? Coverage maps are not very reliable either.
T-Mobile Maps its Expanded High-Speed 5G Coverage
Would be nice if T-Mobile would expand their voice network coverage.
Many deadspots away from highways, densely populated areas.
Re: Compatibility
2,4,5,12, and 66 will get you basically 4G LTE without the "icing on the cake" bands such as 14,29,30 (AT&T). Those bands are not used that much anyway except band 14 for the FirstNet first responder network.
Band 71 is T-Mobile's 600mhz long distance band similar to band 12 (700mhz) on both TMobile and AT&T. It all depends on where you use your phone.
Compatibility
Shame such a decently priced phone for its type would be sold with such incomplete LTE and NR frequecies.
There are other midranger type phones out there that are highly compatible but don't expect an 800 series processor.
OnePlus Nord N10 5G
This phone comes in 3 variants:
BE2025- Metro, T-Mobile variant
BE2026- Unlocked North American variant.
BE2029- International variant
ZTE Axon 30
"Although ZTE will sell the phone in the US, it is not optimized for US networks, offering only basic support for AT&T's 4G network (LTE 2/4/5/12). It won't support 5G in the US, nor the 4G networks of Verizon and T-Mobile."
Then why sell it in the U.S.?
Re: Variants
Thanks for the update.
Variants
I read somewhere on another phone related website that the OS updates for the specified timeframes were geared mainly for the Korean variants only. Is this true?
Kyocera DuraForce Ultra 5G
Hopefully AT&T picks up this phone as well.
There are many that need rugged phones like these.
Standing Ovation
Not bad at all for the price point and specs.
Great going AT&T!!!!!
Samsung Galaxy A51 5G
Now Samsung is already in progress with the A52 5G
Definitely not a sleeping giant.
Feeliing BLU
What is it with this manufacturer?
I have not noticed even one of their phones in the US market with an LTE band over 28.
Then it's like 1 or 2 software updates and then bye-bye.
5G UW for Verizon
Very limited coverage.
Motorola g8 power (2020)
Best budget mid-ranger phone for the price-point I have seen.
Listed LTE Bands
This phone is presently being offered by Visible
Visible ZTE Blade A3 Prime
Free with Swap or $99
A51
Nice successor to the A50.
Android 10 as in the A50 disabled Wi-Fi calling.
A50
Great phone.
Android 10 disabled wifi calling.
LG Stylo 6
Nice sequel to the Stylo 5.
Comparable to a lower end Mid-range.
Decent feature set.
Re: 855 Plus
I read somewhere that it is the kernel. Who knows............
