Re: Coverage question
5G does not improve coverage. Range is limited (mm band); a few blocks is all. Additionally, Verizon stated that the Ulra Wide-band product will only be available to commercial users at first. Not ready for you & I yet.
Not really available
It was reported earlier by Verizon that the "Ultra wide-band" marketed product will only be available to commercial customers, not the general public on initial roll-outs. Yes, there is 5G but you can't use it. :(
Sounds perfect but no adding RAM?
I love this larger size. Wireless charging is not a biggie for me, yet. But why no way to add memory...weird. That will push more sales of the 128 GB version.
Re: .
Correct: Not meant to be and can NOT be useful inside buildings. The nature of physics can not be changed... the higher the frequency, the greater the reflectivity and absorption by moisture. Foliage has a great effect in the GHz range.
Re: Shocking...
Yes I found the same scenario. It is cheaper for me to buy a phone and be tied up with a 2-year contract than 'finance or lease it'. I certainly don't want to pay $200+ in total monthly payments and not own the device after 2 years.
The carriers will have to improve on the offers if they go this route.
Only AT&T??
This unit needs to be available through the 'top 5' carriers, not just AT&T.
Re: Switch from S 4 to Note 3
Upgrades are fine anytime YOU feel the technological improvements have real value. Improvements will always be right around the corner; it only matters what value you put on those updates. Every other generation jump is usually worth it for most folks.
Re: The screen is lousy
bluecoyote has got to be a troll.
Had my GS3 since 1st day out. GF has one too. Many of my friends have the GS2, 3, 4 -- NONE have screen ghosting issues.
AT&T is worried
While I believe the Softbank majority purchase will ultimately go through, this shows the political influence of a wireless business in Washington.
AT&T will do what ever it takes to slow, block, interfere with the growth of a competitor. They know this will significantly harm their business due to the enhanced, formidable competition.
A big plus for consumers however.
Apple remains non-standard
:x
Obviously Apple could have (should have) standardized and went with micro-USB to start. They had the chance. One more irritant to consumers. They made a bad call with the Lightning idea here. The difference adds no value.
