Re: Moto misses the mark... again!
Microsoft... a standard? M$ hardly adheres to industry standards... and even Windows Mobile 2003 is still far too unstable for everyday use.
The phones we've tried out running Symbian, Palm and even Linux were much better. Palm on Linux is a very enticing platform since Linux is easier to develop for than Palm, but you still have the familiar Palm PIM apps and 3rd party Palm apps available.
What's wrong with an iPod and a Mac? We trashed ...

Probably because anyone who uses these forums is free to express any opinion they want. If you don't like it, ignore it.
I manage the mobile tech section of a Fortune 500 company in Detroit. We've played with a pre-release version of this phone and I largely agree with the parent of this thread. Windows Mobile is far too unstable. We had to reboot the phone on the average of once per day. Unfortunately, you ...
Re: So cool, if only it had.....
I actually get pretty good quality sound from my Nokia 6620. And with a 128MB card, I get about a fullday's worth of music. Since I work in an office, I can never get more than 2 or 3 hours of time to listen to music.
The interface, though, is no where near as nice as the iPod's. I wonder if the iTunes app on the upcoming Moto phones will provide a UI on par with the ...
Re: Why not update the 6820?
I agree. I want something that'll allow me to browse regular websites, view Office documents, and quickly type out emails. Hopefully Putty will work on this too.
Too bad it wasn't just a tad smaller. I have a 6620, and that's about as big as I'd like to go. If they could've made the screen/keybd about that size, it would be close to perfect.
I also kind of wish this one had a camera. While it's ...
Re: So cool, if only it had.....
No, but I don't always need my 40GB iPod with me at all times either. If I could get a new Moto phone with iTunes on it (not sure when those are coming out) and an expansion slot to toss a 1 or 2GB SD card in, I could easily leave the iPod in my truck while I'm at work.
So cool, if only it had.....
I was very excited when I first saw this. It looks very cool and I was hoping that it would replace my Nokia 6620, Sharp Zaurus SL-C760, and iPod. Too bad it's short a few features, though. If only it had:
1.) a slightly larger internal screen
2.) SD/MMC expansion card slot
3.) Symbian or perferrably Linux OS
4.) Class 10 EGPRS
Since it only looks like it has 5MB memory, I guess Moto isn't going to install iTunes on this ...
Re: t-mobile???
My bad! I didn't see that Cingular just discontinued it. Odd since it's a new phone and they aren't replacing it with something similar. Yet another good reason to steer clear of Cingular (not to mention they have by far the dumbest customer service reps of all the 5 carriers I've ever been associated with).
Re: t-mobile???
Who's putting the V600 on the discontinued list??? It just came out this past April to Cingular and ATTWS.
Re: Coming to the U.S.? YES!
The resolution on this camera phone is 1.3M pixel which is pretty darn good for a camera phone. My Nokia 6820 only has a 110K pixel camera and it takes decent pics for the web.
While not a necessary feature, I find the camera does come in handy from time to time... esp for making short video clips.
I totally disagree with your comment that "Most places" don't allow you to bring in a camera phone. I've been to ...
