Re: Phone Pricing Scheme?
If they merely said $49.99 after mail-in rebate then it would be. Unfortunately for you hypothesis, they do not. On commercials they say see store for details either on the bottom in fine print or verbally. On their website, the "After $50.00 mail-in rebate" is hyperlinked symbolizing you must click on it to access more information that further explains the mail-in rebate rules.
Sorry Charlie

I have been a customer with US Cellular for 11 years and was always happy until the belief programs came out. I chose to stay with my old plan and buy only used phones now. I have seen many of my favorite customer service people leave over the last year and it stinks!! They have the best connection for where I live but the plans SUCK!!
Why do they suck?

We just released the HTC Merge and the HTC Pro7. I would be willing to bet those two devices are included in the three they were referring to.
Are you on CARES or AIM?
Re: Where will LTE be available at?
The Atrix MIGHT be coming this fall. Nothing is every 100%.
In my opinion, I would wait. If you would upgrade today the soonest you would be able to upgrade with your points is a little under one year from now.
4G phones are far better than the 3G phones. Moving from single to dual-core technology coupled with front facing cameras and a suite of other features makes the 4G phones far better than the 3G ...
Re: Any Idea on which 3 HTC Phones are being Tested?
1. Desire II
2. Wildfire S
3. Not Sure, but I know USC is supposed to get a bunch more tablets - it could be the HTC Tablet or possibly an HTC optimized for LTE.
Re: Motorola Xoom or Galaxy?
The Xoom will eventually be available with a plan.
Do you currently have an Android with USC? If so, I would simply add teathering onto your account and teather the Xoom. Definitely worth getting the Xoom.
Re: Any news out there on LTE and its phones coming to USC?
"Customers looking for the most advanced devices will have more options this fall. A Motorola Smartphone with dual-core 1 GHz processors and 4.3-inch touchscreen is optimized for multimedia applications like watching TV and movies, and has worldphone capabilities for global travelers. One of the slimmest and lightest Smartphones is coming from LG, though it’s also heavy on features with a 1 GHz processor, 4-inch touchscreen and ultra-bright LCD display that’s easy to view in sunlight. Both devices run ...
Live Wallpapers
Looking for two different live wallpapers - wondering if anyone had ever heard of something like it.
First, a live wallpaper that has a line of RSS scrolling on a portion of it. It would be sweet to just have news updates, status updates, market quotes, etc... scrolling in the back without the need of a widget or app.
Second, a live walpaper of a transparent engine running. Thought that would be pretty sweet. ...
Re: Not as such
True story. They're making strides towards it but at the same rate others are.
U.S. Cellular iPhone?
Has anyone heard of the possibility of U.S. Cellular getting the iPhone?
Re: US cellular to get Motorola Atrix
It would make sense because USC is supposed to get LTE in some areas by the end of the year. Will also be getting the second gen LTE Optimus with a front facing camera and dual-core processor.
Re: New Phone Releases
Will also be receiving the LG Genesis eventually.
Motorola Xoom will be available as WiFi only. Can't be sure, but I would guess USC would run a deal on the WiFi only models if you do a an upgrade/two year agreement with a plan that has Data Plus and Teathering.
Re: New Phone Releases
HTC Merge should be here in a couple of weeks. Within that time or soon after USCC will also be actively selling a new W7 device and the Motorola Xoom.
Re: Why no cool Motorola offerings....
I believe they are testing the Xoom tablet for possible sale. No official statement as of yet though.
As far as phones, I'm not really sure why they haven't gotten anything in the smartphone that is competative.
Re: New Phone Releases
The Device Management team is pleased to announce the forthcoming launch of the Samsung Gem(TM) on April 1,2011.

Samsung Mesmerize 2.2 Released
Yesterday (March 23rd) U.S. Cellular released the Froyo update for the Samsung Mesmerize. You will be able to do this on your own from the USCC website or go to an authorized retailer to recieve the update. Some agent locations may not have it yet but within a relatively short period of time the majority will.
General Rooting Thread
First off, I noticed that there weren't many universal rooting threads so i figured I would create one.
Second, I am a noobie. How exactly does it all work?
Samsung Fascinate/Mesmerize 2.3 Root
I've been looking around and haven't seemed to be able to find anyone who has rooted a fascinate/mesmerize to Gingerbread. Anyone had any luck on this? I haven't ever rooted before and I want to see how fast I can get this Galaxy S'ish phone going..
