Re: New to T608
Yes, I actually read your response and am posting this by way of it! Very cool.
The main surprise was that the number to dial is not your regular dial-up number, but rather *777. My Sprint Vision username & password were auto-filled-in when I did this. I'm still not sure why this works or where this guy got the information, but it seems to work.
My information about how to use the T608 to connect to the internet ...
Re: cdma
There seems to be conflicting information about Sony's commitment to CDMA. I just got the T608, and one of the reviewers said after he had trouble the phone was being recalled and SE was not going to support it. I read elsewhere that SE tried this and decided not to pursue CDMA. And yet the phone is on their website and is available from Sprint.

Re: Question
I confess I'm a bit miffed at this as well. When I was at AT&T a few years back, they'd give me a new phone or a substantial discount if I'd sign up for another year. I just can't believe that these phones cost the carrier very much; the technology doesn't grow on trees, I know, but those development costs are spread over a million phones and god knows the materials are worth about $3 per phone. ...
Re: Are SE phones pocketable/durable?
Hi.
I have been using Sanyos with Sprint for several years now with very good results, but, like you, I was dying for a BT phone and just got the SE T608. I've only had it for a couple days, but durability does not seem to be an issue. The joystick does not stick out very far, and you can lock the keys to prevent inadvertent button-pushing. I also keep my phone in my left front pants ...
New to T608
I just received my new phone via PCS-AUTO, and have just activated it. I'll plan to post a user review once I've familiarized myself with it, but a few first observations:
PROS
--great compact size
--light weight
--reasonably loud ringers
--bluetooth
CONS
--dubious battery life (already showing diminished battery life and I've hardly used it)
--screen is hard to read in sunlight
--menus do seem slow to me
The phone seems reasonably well-constructed, and so far the menus seem intuitive and the sound quality a great improvement over ...

Re: computer hookup
Thanks for the info.
In looking over the reviews for the Sony Ericsson T608 (Sprint's only Bluetooth phone) I noticed that one reviewer (t608girl) said she used the Bluetooth to connect to her G4 Powerbook and surf. That's just the ticket, but she left no further information, including how well it really worked or whether she got caught by Sprint or not. To make matters worse, I can find no information about the price of the T608, and ...
computer hookup
I'm wondering what would be involved in using my Sanyo 4900 to hook up to my Mac Powerbook for cellular surfing. Is anyone familiar with this? Is my phone even capable / compatible? How does one learn what phones are good for this and which ones aren't? The local Mac guy here says that Sprint does do this, but doesn't know much more. Any ideas / helpful hints?
Thanks
Re: RL-7300 vs VM-4500 battery life, etc.
Thanks for the reply. I guess I'd follow that advice and keep the ready link disabled, since I don't yet know anyone else with a ready link phone!
I really like the rugged styling of the RL-7300, and only wish it came with a camera and without the ready link. Sanyo makes, and Sprint offers, just such phones, but I feel like I ought to get the very latest generation of phone available. Their other camera phones ...
RL-7300 vs VM-4500 battery life, etc.
I'm new to the site--lots of good info. I'm contemplating a replacement for my Sanyo 4900, and have been very happy with Sanyo's quality--the 4900 is my third Sanyo. I'd love the VM-4500, but it's a bit rich for my budget. I'd rather have the camera than the Ready-Link (since I have no one to play with on Ready-Link), but the RL-7300 seems a more attractive phone to me than the RL-2500 (and seems better reviewed). ...
