This will be good for Sprint customers in these areas. It will greatly increase coverage and capacity there.

Most customers dont even know 4G is, let alone LTE. And its great news about the JB update since I have a Sprint S3(rooted, of course)

They definitely dont look out for the consumer lol or there would be goals for the number of that will be unlocked...This prevents consumer choice.

I love how they say "The Library of Congress explained that it believes there are enough unlocked handsets available in the market at this time". Im pretty sure all carriers(for sure VZW and Sprint) lock the phones from the get go. It seems quite arbitrary that phones can be unlocked but not tablets. Like the other post that refers to the differnce of Rooting to Unlocking.

This will be a really good deal once Sprint has more LTE coverage and Clearwire launches its "5000" LTE sites in June 2013. I would do this if I lived in an area with Wimax even. 8)

They're upgrading capacity and adding backhaul. The 850ESMR band wont be launched for the majority of markets til beginning of next year due its still in use for IDEN, excpet a few markets will have access to it by end of this year. As what phones are capable of usingg is extremely more tha 5%, all Sprint sold stating with the HTC Evo 3D can access this band, (including the popular Galaxy S2) and just this year alone Sprint ...

Yes! Phone is the middle ground between a phone(smartphone to be exact) and a tablet...thus Phablet! Per ABI research phablet is as a device with a screen that ranges between 4.6 inches and 5.5 inches - as a device with a screen that ranges between 4.6 inches and 5.5 inches

:) Sprint's towers dont broadcast the 2.5Ghz band, Clearwire does. Sprint owns approx 54% stake in Clearwire and uses it 4G Wimax. The new towers will be capable of numerous spectrums including Lightsqaured's 1600Mhz pending FCC approval. Autocorrect gets me when im using my phone, apparently it knows wat Im gonna type better than me lol. most of the population wont fully know the capabilities of LTE and have been happy with 3G. Yea LTE will be great, mainly its will be for data intensive svcs like video chat/streaming and many business applications.

FYI its Megabit(Mb) not Megabyte(MB). I can easily get 8Mb on Sprints Wimax, and VZW LTE hit 10Mb and higher. LTE is the future, here a speed test done while ATT was testing its LTE network http://www.bgr.com/2011/09/06/htc-jetstream-4 g-speeds-shown-off-on-live-att-lte-network-vi deo/ Not only is LTE extremely faster than HSPA+ and Wimax, it provides an huge increase in bandwidth/capacity and really low latency.

Im assuming they will have an LTE SGS3 next summer seeing how they have an HD LTE SGS2 in other parts of the world. The 3 major US carriers will have multiple LTE markets launched by next summer. http://newsroom.sprint.com/article_displa y.cfm?article_id=2064

ATT is in a shortage of spectrum to bulild out thier 4G LTE network, Thus the reason they're trying to buy T-Mobile USA. They've stated to the FCC that cant compete/build out their 4G LTE network without T-Mobile USA's spectrum. Sprint has extremely more spectrum for 4G resources compared to ATT and Verizon.
