L70
So, Metro gets the L70, as does Wal-Mart Family Mobile ($180), but no love for their own prepaid division? The only sector that was any growth for several quarters gets left behind again.
Tracfone S390G
This is the same phone Tracfone, Net10 and Striaght Talk have carried for over a year as the Samsung S390G.
Coverage
"T-Mobile offers LTE in only a handful of markets right now. It expects to cover 100 million POPs with LTE by mid-year, and 200 million by year's-end"
They also expect to have LTE (or even refarmed 3G) in northern New England when hell freezes over.
Re: Already available
Verizon's
Straight Talk
This phone has been seen on Straight Talk's and Net10's site. It was also shown at CES with the logo of Tracfone's parent company (which is also on the graphic that is in the article).
Already available
This phone has already been spotted in stores as of last Friday and was seen on sale on the web on Monday. Price is $100. The screen in 3.5”, not 3”.
Better than the original?
This HAS to better than the original Sparq. What a piece of garbage that was.
Prepaid bound
I actually spotted a shelf tag at a CVS pharmacy several months ago that had "T-Mobile Wombat" on it. Price was $80
Price?
To quote John McClane, “If it’s more than $1.98, I’d be very surprised”
Sort of old news
Phone was spotted over tree weeks ago at several Wal Mart stores.
Been around
Has been available for at least 2 weeks at several Wal Mart stores and is the same price ($180) as the Samsung Galaxy Proclaim.
Not surprising
Since Tracfone now owns Simple, this it not that surprising. Net10 has a $50 unlimited so this price is in line with that brand.
Re: Bazinga ! !
Verion Troll?
I'm not partial to ANY carrier. I just don't like that Sprint rents it's network ourt to 1257 MVNOs, then wonders why they have slow data sppeds.
Grab your Sprint phone and head to northern New England and tell me about your fantastic data coverage.
Coverage.
Those 9600 decommissioned iDEN towers will still have better coverage than 9600 active Sprint CDMA towers.
Available
An ebay dealer is selling these for $45 (the Tracfone version) as of 2 weeks ago.
Already available
Price is $10 and can be had throught either Radio Shack's or Dollar General's website.
Re: 5 Manufactuers
I think you have to throw Alcatel One Touch in there as well. Virgin Mobile USA just released the Venture made by Alcatel.
Sparq has no fire.
Not worth $80 by a long stretch.
Wrong plan name quoted.
The plans that are changing are the Beyond Talk plans, NOT the PayLo plans.
While it lasts.
Odds are the unlimited option will not last long. Get in while you can
Pantech Caper
This handset has been out for at least 4 weeks in stores. It can range anywhere from %60 to $80, depending on the retailer. I paid $57 for one at Wal Mart in Hooksett, NH back on 2-19-2011.
Re: I am guessing Boost Mobile/Sprint
I remember back in August or September hearing that it would be heading to Verizon.
Prepaid version available
There is a prepaid version of the Citrus available for $180 from Wal Mart as well.
Re: Coverage?
Simple Mobile uses T-Mobile's network. They also have no roaming on AT&T.
Re: Still Expensive.
But, with T-Mobile's plans, you can roam on AT&T with no extra charges. Virgin Mobile has no roaming.
Re: Yeah!
This just in...
iPCS sues themselves for allowing the takeover. Why? They've sued everyone else, why not themselves?
Re: Mess with IPCS...
If iPCS could sue themselves, they would.
Re: When???
"The Mural will be available at select AT&T stores and online starting September 6 for $50 after mail-in rebate with new agreement."
Re: Why is T-mobile always late?
Sidekicks are also marketed towards hearing impared and deaf adults. With the TTY relay programs on the phone, along with everything else, HOH and deaf people don't really need a different device.
Re: Why is T-mobile always late?
Microsoft had closed the deal for Danger a while back (cannot remember and exact date). Since then, they've added quite a few things to the Sidekick, not just the '09, including Mocrosoft Live Search.
Re: possibly
No, Verizon loves the profits from their customers. They could care less who the customer is, just show them the money.
Does the Jet name belong to Kyocera?
Years ago Kyocera had a phone named the "Jet" for Amp'd Mobile. Does Kyocera hold a trademark for that name?
$15 credit
Since when do they come with any credit? You had to add $25 withing 7 days of activation to get a $10'bonus'.
And they still don't have a way to add data or texting packs on-line. Too bad because that's a violation of the Americans With Disabilities Act. Hate to tell you this, AT&T, but deaf folks can't 'call' 611 and follow the voice prompts, you see, we are deaf.
Also available on Verizon Prepay
They happen to be offering the Smooth on Verizon Prepay as well. They have been found for $20 at Wal-Mart.
Jax
Heard the Jax will cost $10. Seeing as how it's so cheap, and made by Kyocera, why not call it the "Junx"? A fitting name.
Re: Ugliest Phone Ever?
This has been available on InPulse since 8-8 and only in select Wal Mart stores. I picked one up last week. It's not the greatest phone, but it's not the worst, either. They are selling these for $99 on InPulse.
Re: People of Unicel, welcome to the Empire!
Except for the entire state of Vermont, all Unicel assets there must be sold (AT&T was the buyer last time I knew). Verizon is there as well, but Bernie had his way.
Re: Marbl 2.0
I hope it's not as bad as the Marbl. Let's not forget that the very early versions of the Oystr, also from Kyocera, had a VERY short standby time because of the firmware on the phone (about 24-36 hours).
Re: Actually it isn't the Cheapest
Airlink Powerlink is $69 a month, and they use Sprint's network too.
Re: Actually it isn't the Cheapest
VCast is from Verizon Wireless, not Sprint, the network Virgin Mobile uses.
