Recording Ringtones:Blackberry
I just traded my Palm Treo for a Blackberry 8703.
On my Treo I could record my own ringtone. For example, speak into the mic,"Bob, your phone is ringing" or "Just record some silly sound I pick out on my own."
Can I do the same thing with my blackberry? I can't find that option.

Well my company does use a blackberry enterprise server -- i went ahead and bought one and well i'm not happy with it.
I'm thinking of switching to the Q. my blackberry is too complicated to use. It's impossible to quickly shoot off a text message while driving (i know it's a bad habit)or even just while standing around in a crowd with a drink it your hand. It's too many clicks of the trackwheel to do anything.
Treo and Volvo
I had a treo 650, which I enjoyed for the most part, a few freezes here and there but nothing bad.
I got a new Volvo, and their bluetooth handsfree system. Well ever since i connected my treo to that thing my phone went haywire. Freezes constantly, turns itself off and on. I turned it in, got a new one, same thing.
So I gave up, got a blackberry.
Well I hate it. It's too complicated to use, the "wheel of death" ...

Original poster here: yes i have alltel. it's not my choice, it's a corporate deal. I just have to find a phone on there to use. i came to you guys as you seem to be the experts.
So what do you think, I'm going in tonight....

I really want the Q based on style and looks, but my treo frustrates me for always freezing, and being unreliable.
The blackberry seems complicated to use, and uninspiring. I also tend to use the camera on my treo a lot.
Anyone made a similar switch?

Really? Even if the phone freezes every few minutes to the point you can't use it. They replaced it 3 times for doing that. i haven't had the latest replacement more than a month.
Yes I have insurance, but I think it's more of a phone problem.

I have had a Treo 650 for about a year. It was always a little quirky but for the most part it worked OK for me. A lot more dropped calls then my regular alltel phone, and it always claims it's roaming when it's not. But no biggie.
As time went on the thing started freezing like no tomorrow. It constantly gets stuck. I sent it in for a replacement.
The replacement had a broken headset. I could only hear callers ...
