I really want the Q based on style and looks, but my treo frustrates me for always freezing, and being unreliable.
The blackberry seems complicated to use, and uninspiring. I also tend to use the camera on my treo a lot.
Anyone made a similar switch?
...
Which blackberries are you looking at? The 7130 has no camera, but the Pearl (8100) and Curve (8300) do. The Moto Q is a CDMA phone, but is nearly identical to the Samsung Blackjack. There is also the Moto Q9 which will be GSM when it's released in a few months.
Blackberries are much much more simple to use than any other PDA you will ever pick up. Other PDAs aren't 'hard', but a Blackberry is even easier. If you used a 650 then any Blackberry will be cake to you.
I went from the Treo 650 to the Nokia 9300, to a 7130, to an LG 500, back to the 7130, then to the Pearl, and now to the Curve.
...
the 8703 and the 7130 they are the only ones offered by my cellphone provider.
...
Ah, that was my confusion. Most of us wont know a lot about phones offered by other carriers.
...
Wasn't he with Alltel or something though?
...
I'm not sure. Alltel sucks; that's what I'm sure of.
...
Damn! I thought I traded phones a lot!
...
I didn't really trade... I still have all those phones.
...
I have a few myself. I also have 2 lines that I use. I may buy a ROKR on the side.
...
I should start offloading my old phones onto you. 🤣
...
That may work, but I'm picky on my phones.
...
Well I used the have the ROKR, and I'm anal and keep all the original packaging and accessories.
...
I try to do the same, unless I freaking hate the phone.
...
I still keep everything, so I can sell it later when I'm done with it. I have shelves full of empty boxes.
...
That makes sense. I should do that too from now on.

I wouldnt wipe my butt with a blackberry (hey, that gives a whole new meaning to the term "crackberry"!), but that's just cause I personally dont like them. My brother has a Q, he's a Verizon fanboy. I have the Blackjack, and as Ralph said they are alot alike. I love my Blackjack, my brother loves his Q. If you are a verizon customer, I'd recommend the Q just based on how it's worked for my brother. If you are at&t, go for the Blackjack. If you are with a different carrier, well, it's time to step up to the big leagues.
...
It has excellent features, but it's pure hell on ya! I don't know how many times I had to trade it out. Get any phone BUT the Q! {or at least wait until an updated version comes out}
...
What problems did you have with it?
...
1. The keypad would either not respond, or it would respond too many times.
2. When I Tried to take a video, it would freeze on me.
3. I got an occasional whistling sound when making a call.
4. The battery life is horribly short. It's even shorter than the 700w.
5. The fact that Verizon made me buy another phone, instead of giving me a comparable mobel after having 3 of them in 12 days.
...
Original poster here: yes i have alltel. it's not my choice, it's a corporate deal. I just have to find a phone on there to use. i came to you guys as you seem to be the experts.
So what do you think, I'm going in tonight....
Blackberry model I mentionned or the Moto Q.
...
I'd say a Q, only because I know nothing about Blackberry devices.
...
mama says the Q is the tool of the Devil 👿 =^.^=
...
If Blackberry would make a phone w/ video record, I'd be all over it.
...
i like my 8100C fits my fine. i would like to try the 8300. anyone know if thats any good. =^.^=
...
It looks like how it would look like if the Treo 680 and the Pearl made a baby.
...
Did you not understand what forum you were in when you made this post? Like are you for real?
What the hell was your thought process to bring you to this point? Seriously man.
...
You're right! That flew over my head, as well as other people. He needs the Verizon forum. But to answer your question, windowwatcher, you should go for the VX6800 when it comes out.
