Anyone know how the Revere 2 differes from the Revere?
I can't see any difference, and Verizon even has the same manual linked to both phones.
Re: Micro-USB chargers
Yes, it will work. The voltage is key - the phone will only draw as many mAmps as necessary but if it's insufficient, it won't charge at all. 0.1 volts seems more than in tolerance for a phone to charge.
Re: I don't get why NFC for credit cards is significant
I guess I could see some of those benefits. People bumping into you and stealing your info is possible but far fetched. Besides, CC companies give you 100% protection, so it's nice that you're concerned about them but it won't impact you. Same with locking remotely - you can call the CC company and have the card shut down.
Multiple cards would be nice though - my transit card and my CC and my work ID... all done away with? ...
I don't get why NFC for credit cards is significant
I cut my apart my PayPass contactless credit card (with the chip in it) years ago and shoved the little tiny chip in my phone battery compartment. My latest credit card I got last month came with a secondary tiny card (about 1” x0.5”) with a chip in it that was meant to be stuck on the back of your phone. So why spend $ for NFC? I guess there’s software you can use, but for contactless payment, seems ...
Re: e71x or samsung jack?
My BJII slowly broke - it's that stupid connector.
First the earpiece stopped working. Why they have the earpiece and charger plug in the same spot is beyond me. Especially one that's poorly designed.
Then a couple months later the charger stopped working when plugged in. You could push it in hard and it would work... but there was no way to keep it in, short of holding it.
I had trouble finding charges all along but eventually found a couple online ...
Re: Please tell me it's different now
I agree about getting messages when there's no signal - I'm talking about simply viewing messages that you've already viewed... my 8700g purges all but the first few k of messages after a few hours, so if I want to re-read something, I have to have a network connection. Seems simple to retain the message onces it's downloaded.
I'm currently using an 8700G and it's my second BB. Both retrieve the first few k of each message and that's it. ...
Re: Please tell me it's different now
That's no good - what if I'm in the subway or on a plane or just somewhere I can't get a network... with ANY BB you're saying I can only see the first few kilobytes of any e-mail?
Please tell me it's different now
I have an 8700g, which I'm coming to like a lot (particularly thanks to the Google apps). But I have one major gripe: if you're cut off from the network, you're screwed. I was in the Sears Tower for a meeting yesterday, which you'd think would have decent coverage, but it doesn't. I wanted to pull up an e-mail and I could only get the very first part of it - since I had no network connection, I was ...
