env2

Nov 5, 2008 by NikkiNickita

I like it and i dont like it. i had the env 1 but then i dropped it in water and they didnt have any more env 1's so i had to upgrade. I hate the small screen on the front. i really dont like it. But i like that on the inside the key pad is bigger than the env and that it is slimmer than the first.

Ok phone

I've had many problems with this phone, but I love the idea of it so much that I'm sticking with it. I love the qwerty keyboard and I can type really fast on it. Also I like where the space bar is and how the keys feel. I like the large inside screen. The 2 soft keys on the inside are somewhat difficult to push since they are flush with the surface of the phone.

My main problems were with the outside of the phone. The cheap chrome started chipping almost immediately and now that I've had it for a few months almost half of it has peeled off. And I strictly carry my phone in my pocket (I don't carry a purse) with no other items like keys etc. so this chipping is from everyday use. The up and down only buttons are annoying when I'm texting using the front screen and find an error; I have to delete all of my text until I get to the error instead of scrolling to it. I like how the outside buttons look and feel and I haven't had any problems with those. The speaker is quiet on the phone even at the highest volume (when talking on the phone, not ringtones) and I've even had my speaker not work. Someone will call me and I can hear them but they can't hear me.

The camera has given me problems too. I will take a picture and press save, the phone will tell me it's saving the photo, then I go to My Pix to view it again and it won't be there. Then later it will magically show up in My Pix.

I've had other problems using the web or games. The phone will tell me I can't access the web while in an active call, when I'm not calling anyone and hadn't called anyone for hours. This also happens with playing games. I have to turn the phone off and turn it back on.

What a mess.

I originally was going to buy a touch screen phone, but ive always had a very basic phone and was frankly afraid to make the jump to a more high tech phone.
I have had alot of problems with this phone

PROS:
It allows me to text on both a qwerty and traditional screen.

Great camera.

Great for surfing the web.

CONS:

After a month the buttons on the font be gan to stick, and eventually stopped working at all.

The key lock is very ineffective, and it uses most of my minutes calling random numbers from my purse.

The paint chips almost immediately.

The speaker will eventually stop, and then you may not be able to ever make phone calls because you can't hear at all.

I returned this phone once already in the 4 months I've had it, and the replacement is having the same problems, I do not reccomend this phone, its unreliable.

For Now I own this phone..

This phone is absolutely amazing. I mean I did come from a really bad phone (pantech at&t smallest camera phone in the world advertisment), but now I am with a way better service.
I started out wanting the Samsung Glyde. I thought it was the coolest phone ever, and if it worked I would still think it was. Whenever I went to the verizon store they told me that the glyde was a really bad phone. They suggested the voyager. Then I had starry eyes for that phone. Whenever we were there to purchase the phones, my mom decided on the new env2. I loved it. The feel for it was so amazing. It was compact and right afterwards I got a cute cover for it. They did say however if I changed my mind within a couple days I could trade it in. Well, I am thinking about doing so for the voyager. Anyone who wants this phone, please don't be too discouraged about this. This is a great phone but I had my heart set on a touch screen and now I think I still want that.
PROS:
*nice full qwerty key pad
*nice big dial pad
*nice speakers
*takes nice pics
*doesn't break easily (as opposed to much touch phones)
CONS:
*You are limited with the small screen in front
This is my review, and if I do trade for voyager I will definitely leave a review there!

A great entry level messaging phone

Oct 17, 2008 by cellularconnection

I bought this phone in June to replace a tiny nokia I made the mistake of buying because it was free. I ended up buying this phone full retail.

This phone is amazing.

Pros:
Long battery life. I charge it every 3-5 days, and this is in the mountains.
Solid casing
Good call quality
Amazing internal speakers for music playback
Decent camera (I have a digital for the times I need it)
Pairs well with my Bluetooth

Cons:
After a few months of wear and tear some of the Chrome finish on the edge of the phone is coming off.
Made some "pocket calls" when I first got it. use a clip now and have no issues.

If anything, I would love to have a lock slide on the side of the phone, to shut off everything on the front of the phone to keep accidental dialing to a minimum. This is a great phone and I've sold it to a lot of my friends as a good basic messaging phone.

u should nv this phone.

Good for Texters, Not so Good for Regular Phone Users

Aug 20, 2008 by a.lofters

Recently I switched from the first enV to the enV2. I'm a fanatical texter. Honestly? I miss my old enV, and I wish VW had not discontinued it.

Pros of the enV2:

-Great for anyone who needs to text or use their email
-Great camera quality for a phone
-Good shape ( not bulky, a lot slimmer than the old enV )
-Has great quality music and tones
-Great voice clarity
-fair price
-battery life is OK

Cons of the enV2:

-If you set it on vibrate, you have to have it right next to you: otherwise you can't hear it.
-The outer screen is too small for me
-The outer screen's buttons are a bit unusual and hard to dial with
-certain actions seem to really drain your battery life ( ie playing games, using the speaker, taking a video )

My Issues:

This may not pertain to other people with the enV2, but my phone is calling people I never meant to call four or five times a day. Some people it calls aren't even my speed dials. This always happens when I have my phone closed. The enV2 comes with a 'Keyguard Setting' locking the outer screen after 7, 15, or 30 seconds, but mine doesn't seem to work.
I don't think that this is my phone pressing against anything. For instance, I was sleeping and my phone was near my ear. I was face-up on the pillow and I woke up because I heard somebody say 'Hello?' This has happened to me too many times, and I am planning to take a trip to my carrier soon.

alright so...

PERFECT FOR TEXTERS!

Aug 14, 2008 by kae24

WOW. I *love* this phone!!!

I have a razr right now & I *hate* it.
So my dad (who works for Verizon) gave me the EnV2 to try.

PROS:
-fast traveling thru menus
-QWERTY keyboard
-wayyyyyyy faster to text
-BATTERY LIFE!! it lasts like 5 days uncharged & I text like 24/7
-when ur in the middle of a text & then get another one, u can read it & then press clear when ur done. (on razrs when u hit read now it sends the text u were working on in the drafts folder)
-texting on the front is just as easy
-internal keyboard locks after 7 seconds so no pocket calls or texts
-clear speaker phone
-yeah way more i can't think of

CONS:
-altho the front is easy to use & cool looking, all the number buttons are different sizes & it makes it tough. like the "8" button is much bigger than the "2" button.
-only holds about 300 texts in the inbox
-yeah i dont think i can think of anymore

YEAH! So get this phone!!!! :D

FANTASTIC PHONE1

Aug 12, 2008 by stanm

I am not a heavy texter and really don't use my phone for email, webing, or naviagation (Sorry Verizon), but DO want a great phone (and a good music player), and this is the best I've ever had! (I had one of the first "car phones" when it was expensive and towers were few and far between). This is my 1st LG phone, have had mainly Mot's.
Here's my comments on the ENV2:
Pro's:
*Unbelieveable battery life! I've had it three weeks and have charged it ONCE! (OK it was charging while I downloaded tunes once or twice.)
*Csll clarity (both ends) are exceptional and signal strength is fantastic.
*Ringers, Vibrate, and Speakerphone are load and strong.
*Internal speakers are as good as can be expected for the size limitation of the phone.
*Size and Weight of the phone is perfect.
*Very much like the dedicated music key on the front panel (am listening to the ENV2 while I'm typing this review using headphones, Great sounds!)
*Phone construction is hardy and the soft rubber feel is good, also keeps it from easily sliding all over the place.
*Camera is OK, don't use it a lot, but a flash would have been nice.
*Have over 450 songs on a 2Gig micro card.
*I have personalized the navigation keys to my desire, not hard to do at all.
Cons:
*The 2.5mm jack and microUSB connection, wish the industry could standardize (guess they'd sell a lot less accessories if they did that).
*I can't figure out how to set my songs downloaded from my CD's as ringtones (don't know if it's possible with Verizon's silly crap).
*The Verizon UI and the limitaions they put on the phones capabilities (NOT the ENV2's problem, just a frustration point).
*Would have liked a techy touch screen but couldn't justify paying about 5 times the price for touchy/feely.

I got the ENV2 for $40.00 at Best Buy with a price match deal since the WalMart's around here have it for $48.88.

If you don't want/need a Blackberry type device and/or a touch screen, this is the one! I highly recommend this phone!
