ffaith submitted this review of the LG enV2 (VX-9100):

Overall rating: 4 (out of 5)

The first time I got this phone I loved it! It is super easy to use and figure out and the keyboard is nice. The only thing I didn't like is the front key pad stopped working after maybe 5 months. So I am on my second lg env2, and this one also has button problems. I am going to switch phones soon, but will not by the same phone. This phone is great for teenagers and people who text a lot.:)

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

But it wasn't sturdy enough for the activities that i do.
I do rodeos and i go hunting, and this phone was that sturdy. My whole front screen doesn't work, and my phone when you open it is cracked on the thing you open it with. I have had it for 2 years and it has been a WONDERFUL phone.

Pros
Loud
Small
Biggish keys
Texting pad
I just liked this phone overall.

Cons
Breaks kind of easily
Screen in front is to small

:)

This phone has been through a lot.
It almost got stepped on by my horse.
I love it and i wish they still sold it. So now i want to get the env 3 or the env touch.
:)
Hope you all that do have this phone like it and that it doesn't break like minee. :)

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

One of my friends is on her 5th Env2!!!! ok SO i take it to the store and they send me a new one. now, THE INSIDE SCREEN DOESNT WORK!!!! i had it for 3 weeks. 3 WEEKS!!!!!! what am i going to do on the front part of the screen. Now i cant even save my pictures to the memory card. I'm going to bring it in and get ANOTHER new one today. hopefully this one will work. i cant wait until they stop making the Env2 so when mine breaks they have no choice but to give me the new Env3
The upside to this phone is that its small and easy to text. IF I COULD TEXT ON THE KEYBOARD MADE FOR TEXTING ON

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

SkipTheStorm submitted this review of the LG enV2 (VX-9100):

Overall rating: 4.5 (out of 5)

Pros:
-Good music player
-Great for texting
-Loud
-Decent battery
-Durable

Cons:
-Poor vibrate
-Bad speaker phone

I upgraded to this phone from a razor, BIG difference. The env2 is a great texting phone, and I loved the fact that I could play my music on it. I can't complain about the front screen, yea, its small, but it still allows you to do what you need to do like quickly respond to a text and answer calls. I never much used the front, I'm a huge texter (average about 2000 a month) and got it for the keyboard, everything else was a bonus. The battery, as long as I wasn't using the music player, lasted about 2-3 days, depending on how heavy my texting was. With heavy texting I was charging it daily. I can't say much for the call clarity and all that, as I don't talk long on my phone. When I was forced into long conversations I could talk for at least 2 hrs before I would be forced to charge it.
The vibrate is poor. I would never feel it in my pocket. I could hear it if it were sitting on the desk next to me, but I would never feel it in my pocket.
This phone is durable. The entire time I owned it I worked at a fast food place, and I lost track of the times I'd dropped it open on the floor. It would work great, just picked it up and wiped it off. After the first drop I thought it was toast, but after the 4th one it kept going.
My env2 lasted about 13 months. I had to get a new phone when the OK button on the front stopped working. I've talked to another girl with the same phone and hers does that on occasion. I would say this is something to watch for, also some of the buttons on my keyboard wouldn't work right near the end, again something I'd say you'd want to watch for, as a texting phone that doesn't work right is rather useless and frustrating.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

She used it a lot, I had one, but I was not really "turned on" by the chocolate. I might get the chocolate 3 when I get the chance.

She just got a free upgrade and went for the chance. She is a faster texter on this phone and likes it better already then the chocolate, and this time she got the 8MB memory card so she can store more of her texts, My friends and girlfriend have this phone, my friend seth has black, he just got it from a family member that wanted a new phone and got the enV touch, I had the voyager, but due to the touchscreen breaking it was rendered unusable. The voyager is essentially the same phone but just with a touchscreen. 2.0 camera is a zip and 1 hour video is also a cool thing to have.

P.S right now I have the Motorola v276, so if anyone has any ideas for a new phone I should get just tell me on here.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

beyondmydestiny submitted this review of the LG enV2 (VX-9100):

Overall rating: 2.5 (out of 5)

So, I've had this phone for 4 months now, after switching from Sprint, I loved Sprint, but I recently got into a relationship, where my partner was a VZW user, so I thought it would be cheaper just to switch, and VZW has the best coverage here(followed by Sprint).

I've had 3 EnV2's now. I've had to use the warranty replacement twice.. The first phone, the entire internal screen short circuited for no reason.. the second one, it had an internal antenna problem and would lose service all the time(not a VZW coverage problem) but this one works fine.

Although this one has its problems, its nothing to go to verizon and complain about.. Like, it occasionally will freeze and i'll have to take the battery out, no biggie, or occasionally it'll restart itself for no reason.. but other then that its been working fine.

PROS:
Size - Its not to big, I personally like the size of it, yeah sure it leaves a small buldge in your pocket, but its not as bulky as the original.

Keyboard - Great for texting! I text constantly, I send close to 15,000 a month. So this phone is great for texting.

Camera - Amazing camera, I take pictures more with it, then i do my actual camera.

Battery Life - I use my phone constantly(usually texting), but I still use it to talk, or surf the web, but the battery still lasts 2 days.

Outside keys - Large, I can easily press those with no problems.

CONS:
Freezing - It does freeze, maybe its just this one?

Space keys are in a weird place on the keyboard, but you quickly get used to that.

Neither pro or con:
Outter display: Yes, its small, but its not too small, I use mine all the time, even if its just to answer a text, sometimes its just easier to use the outside. But i will admit that it is limiting.. oh well.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

pwny submitted this review of the LG enV2 (VX-9100):

Overall rating: 1.5 (out of 5)

I've been using wireless telephones for about 11 years now. I've had everything from Nokia to Samsung to Motorola to LG to Sanyo. This phone is by far the biggest disappointment yet.

I had purchased an LG Banter from Alltel shortly before Verizon took over in my area (Charlottesville, VA), and paid the full $300 for the phone. When Verizon took over, the Banter didn't work, so they sent me the EnV2, assuring me that it was comparable to my Banter. They couldn't have been more wrong.

Pros:
The phone LOOKS pretty and clean.
The audio quality when playing mp3s is better than average.
Great battery life.

Cons:
Text messaging interface needs improvement. Too many button presses required before getting to type the actual message.
Keyboard is too cramped and flat, with awkward positioning of space keys as well as backspace.
The durability and scratch-resistance leave a lot to be desired.
The flip is very stiff and can be difficult to open one-handed at times.
The finish leaves the phone feeling almost too smooth... rather slippery and difficult to hold onto, or to hold against the ear with your shoulder (like while you look for your bluetooth)

This is my second EnV2 since they replaced my Banter, and I'm thoroughly unsatisfied. I'll be getting upgraded to a Blackberry Curve in about a week, and I can't wait to get rid of this LG. If you need something that's just simply better than nothing, the EnV2 will be great for you. If you want a real phone that works, looks good, and doesn't make you want to drive over it with a Hummer, steer clear.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

MidnightRose submitted this review of the LG enV2 (VX-9100):

Overall rating: 2 (out of 5)

I have had this phone since last September. I loved this phone up until a couple weeks ago and the 'Send', 7, 8, and 9 buttons on the front panel just completely stopped working. Also Ive noticed in the last couple months that the phone will shut off by itself at random, and twice I've had to take out the battery for it to come back on, most of the time I have to hold down the 'End' button for longer than normal or press it several times for it to turn back on. But the random shutoff, up until now, hasn't been as much of an annoyance but it has gotten worse. No water damage, and I have never dropped it. I'm going to my Verizon store Monday to see what it wrong with it.

Pros:
1. I LOVE the full QWERTY keyboard. The buttons are nicely sized and evenly spaced and yes I do text more than talk.
2. The camera to me takes very good-quality pictures. You have to keep in mind that it is a cell phone camera and therefore it will never be as good as a digital camera, but for a cell phone it does take good-quality pictures.
3. Very loud speaker. I have to keep the volume no higher than 'Medium' or else it will blast your ears. And the loudest setting on speakerphone and the whole room can hear the other end.
Cons:
1. The buttons on the front panel not working. From what I've seen on the net I'm not the only one experiencing this.
2. The annoying random shutoff that seems to get worse over time.
3. The design of the front panel. I feel like it could have been designed better. The front screen only being half an inch tall while the overly HUGE number pad takes up 80% of the phone space?
Conclusion: I like this phone...I really do. Or rather, I want to like this phone. I'll try a replacement for it and see what happens.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

But for people that aren't to careful with phones this is not a good pick for you. if u drop the phone like two times some of the keys don't work and then it is hard to use. but other then that it is a good phone and if u have tiny fingers or normal sized fingers the keyboard is perfect. The camera is annoying to tho because it has no flash!

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Textaholic09 submitted this review of the LG enV2 (VX-9100):

Overall rating: 1 (out of 5)

Let me make this short and to the point. DO NOT get this phone. I went through 3 of them in a short amount of time until I was able to trade the enV2 model in for another phone. The first one I had would reboot everytime I'd try to access Mobile IM and the keys on the front stopped working row-by-row after 2 weeks. The second one would just freeze while trying to access Mobile IM and I'd have to remove the battery and reboot the phone myself, and once again, the keys stopped working row-by-row. The third one was a joke! They sent me a certified pre-owned and I took it back the next day because the bottom row of keys on the front of the phone was sunk in and they didn't work plus the Mobile IM also froze. If you're thinking about getting this phone, run in ANY other direction and don't look back! I gave it the one star because the battery life was pretty good, and that's really the only good thing it had going for it.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

amandab220 submitted this review of the LG enV2 (VX-9100):

Overall rating: 3.5 (out of 5)

I bought this phone about a week after it came out. It is great and very easy to use for texting and dialing as the buttons are easy to press. It is surprisingly indestructible on the outside. Around Christmas, I was walking up my steep driveway (cobblestone and about 30 ft long 20-30% grade) and it fell out of my pocket at the top. It fell all the way down the driveway and got ran over by a car and there was only a small dent on the corner of the phone. However, the exterior buttons refused to work after that. But I have had many friends that said their env2's exterior buttons stopped working for no reason.

PROS
-very accident proof
-very nice buttons both exterior and interior
-nicely spaced buttons on the interior
-screens are bright and colorful
-feels solid
-nice display themes
-loud speakers

CONS
-glitch where buttons stop working
-a tad bit thick in my opinion
-exterior screen is too small
-it has randomly shut off many times

All in all, I think it is a great messaging phone for all ages, with only a few cons.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

So i called verizon and they shipped me a new one...NO CHARGE wasn't that nice of them. You'd think after spending two hundred some dollars on a phhone it would work...

To be fair...I did like some things about the phone...The battery life was really good I'd go three days before I'd even have to plug it in. The camera on the phone was really good, however i have a camera..who needs a great one on a cell phone.

If you want to look good talking on your cell phone...buy this phone...if you want to actually beable to talk on your cell phone...DONT buy this cell phone.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)
