Samsung MM-A900 / SPH-A900 / Ace

All,

I'm hoping someone has a fix for this. Sprint CS did not.

After porting my old number to my new phone everything works fine and reflects the change except "my name card" (Menu>Contacts>My Name Card). I can edit any of the fields except the number which is still the old number (before the port.)

Well i haven't seen it on here so i thought i'd let you guys know there is a better way to upload the ringtones to your phone, it involves a lil bit of editing of the files on the phone, but it doesn't use the net. Goto this addy, read and learn. It's pretty easy to do it, just did it myself and it works.

I can't find Volume Settings for when I make and receive calls. I can adust the ringer volume but don't see in the manual how to adjust the volume when I have the phone up to my ear during calls. Thanks for any help on the procedure to adjust volume.

Is there a program that i need to download in order to transfer songs via blootooth to the phone?

How do I transfer songs with OS X? When I plug the USB cable in, the phone recognizes USB mode but OS X doesn't do anything.

Is there any way to change the graphic that pops up while outgoing calls are connecting? Its a animated red ball thingy, and I'd like to get rid of it.

What is correct size for a screensaver? The screen size is supposedly 1.53in wide by 1.78in height, which equates to 275px by 320px... However I uploaded a picture with these dimensions, and it doesnt fill the entire screen? Any ideas or experiences what has worked for other people using custom screen savers?

When Im on the phone wit someone and i try to send or respond to a text the person on the phone can here me textin... sounds like im dialing numbers... does anyone know how to turn this off?

Im wondering what built in features this phone has to combat unwanted callers?

1.) Can I set unknown/blocked numbers so it rings silent?

2.) Are there any third party apps that allow me to do more customizing. Like perhaps setup a list of emergency numbers that can call me after I go to bed, but anyone else rings silent?

The motorola i730 has this feature built in.

On my old LG VX-6100, I just had to hold the volume down button with the flip closed to quickly set it to vibrate mode. Is there any similar thing with the A900, the only way I know how is to open up the phone and set it to no ringer and turn on the vibrate.

Every 5 seconds my bluetooth headset beeps as if the phone and headset were out of range! It is driving me crazy. I tried 3 different headsets and even switched 900s.

Can anyone help?

I just recently got the a900, and I got about 3 mp3 files on it before it was completely full, I was curious If anyone had any info on making theses files smaller to fit more on the phone? Any ideas?

When you open the A900, the silver button to the left of the LCD screen will adjust your ringer volume from a high of level 8 to "Silence All." 1 up just after "Ringer Off" is the selection for "1 Beep." Is there any way you can select your own sound effect for the "1-Beep" sound? 😕

hi i just joined sprint along with my brother in a family share plan, and i've noticed that when i send texts to people, they either get them hours later or sometimes not at all. I was just wondering if it was sprint or is it my phone, because i don't have an A900, but this seems to be the most talked thread. Thank you for your input.

I have the free phone with activation, and i am going to deff. buy another one, and i really have been interested with the A900 and i was wondering about all the talk on battery life, reception ect. Is all the fuss about those subjects really true? thank you for your help again
