Samsung MM-A900 / SPH-A900 / Ace

I would like to have my screen saver be something animated. Besides using a video recorded on the phone, is there anyway of doing this?

Easy way to extend battery life on the standard battery is to simply turn off the locator. The locator is not needed and serves no purpose unless you get lost you can call 411 and get directions. Other than that, the locator has no purpose for Sprint. For those of you that live in E911 areas, the E911 dispatch will STILL be able to see your location with the phone locator turned off. I turned mine off months ago and my battery lasts about 3 or 4 days with normal talk time.

To turn off the locator:

MENU
SETTINGS
OTHER
LOCATION
Then just turn it off.

On Section 2A of the A900 user guide, it describes the Navigation Key. AND it says that the "Keys can be reassigned to create customized shortcuts." BUT I cannot find (or maybe I'm missing it), anywhere in the user guide a section on the procedure on how to assign a shortcut to the Navigation key.

What I want to do is create a shortcut to the Bluetooth On/Off. I want to replace the Down button for shortcut to Bluetooth On/Off. I only want to turn on my BT when I want to use my headset. This is for Ease-of-use.

Is the font used when texting... The letters are big and "i" seems to take up as much space as "m"...

how do I get songs onto the 900? i've downloaded the drivers but whenever I try to play something i've just downloaded it says it is unsupported. Can I use my itunes library? If so,how? Thanks guys!

How do you find out how much TOTAL CALL TIME you've already used on your Samsung Blade? I've been through all the menus and can't figure this one out. If anyone can respond to this one TODAY, it would be greatly appreciated.

I tried to load on mp3's and was only able to load on 9... 😢
Can it fit more?
If not, I'm going to return it... nice phone, but not worth it if it can't hold more than 9 songs... ☹️

I purchased the Plantronics 320. Did not mate well at all. It was a complete bust. Too scratchy, too uncomfortable. I did like the inner ear design though. $40 flush

Then I bought the Logitech® Mobile Traveller™ Headset. Was looking forward to the designed noise cancellation boom. The boom was a bust. Still did not work well. Very staticy $60 flush.

Ok.. I bought the Motorola HS700. I liked the item. The fit, the sound quality and the best part of it was how it had no static even from 20 feet away. NO STATIC. I liked the way it turned off when it closed BUT.... damnit... It had a hell of an echo on the other end. Everyone complained of the horrid echo. No static on my end, horrid echo on others. ...

My old phone had a feature where you could turn it off, and it would turn itself on and set off the alarm.

The A900 won't do that, nor will it set off the alarm in airplane mode.

I don't want to leave the phone on when I'm sleeping and get woken up by a phone call. Any suggestions?

For some reason when I receive a text message with a link to a website, it doesnt recognize it as a link. how can i fix that?

I just got my Samsung 900, and when i attempt to transfer files from my computer using bluetooth it fails me. When i go to send an mp3 files from my computer to my phone, i get this message
"The target device claims it will not accept a file of the type you are trying to send."
Then it gives me the option to cancel or send anyways, so of course i click send anyways, and the message i get is as follows:
"File transfer failed:not supported"
What does this mean, how can i get around this, please help, thanks

Does anyone else have trouble receiving messages while in roam mode? Messages send out immediately when roaming, but messages from other users are not received unless in the Sprint PCS coverage area. Is there any way to receive text while roaming? Thanks.

In addition to being technologically awful, I can't seem to find my A900 manual and I had a coupke of questions.

One: How do I get the sub-LCD screen to stay on all the time? It stays on for a little bit then cuts off until I hit one of the buttons on the phone...

Two: As far as the mp3 player, can I put songs from my comp onto the phone or do I have to download all music from the sprint music store (which I can't connect to for some reason)? And then how do I set these songs as ringers?

When I try to send a picture to a friend that has Cingular the receiver gets a message stating that the file is too big. Am I doing something wrong or is there a way that I can send the picture so that other non-sprint subscribers can receive it? I am sending the pictures from my album. Please help. THX

ok trying to figure out how to get mp3 into my phone i installed the driver drop an mp3 into the media folder then when i try to play it the phone says unsupported format and wont play the song is there a sync program i need or what am i doing wrong thanks

I just got the A900 over the weekend... I am a Bluetooth first timer... I am trying to connect the phone to my laptop via BT. I was able to pair the 2 devices, but only via DUN. I am not sure I can transfer files this way... The A900 manual* is horrible when decribing BT. On page 163 it describes the different profiles in BT (such as FTP), but does not explain how to set it up.

I will appreciate any help out there!

So I just purchased this phone and I am excited like a little girl in a candy store! I am trying to do a couple of things, they are:
1. I sent a picture to my phone from using the usb and cannot do anything with the picture. I am trying to put it as a contact, screensaver something, how do I do this?

2. Ringtones...Yes, ringtones...how do I upload the music from my computer unto my phone and apply them as rigntones w/o speanding money? I am a grad student and I am broke. I bought the expensive phone and that is enough. lol

3. How do I upload the new software? I think I did do it, but when I play with the phone, the phone moves slower, which is definitely weird.

4. How do you upload music from your computer unto your phone to listen...
