anybody do tethering with this phone?

Is it true that you can't add words to the T9 dictionary? That seems really weird since most of the other Samsung phones allow that.

One of the reviews also said that you can't change the main or sub LCD background with your own images. I find that hard to believe considering even the VGA 1000 let you do this.

What's the deal?

I searched this forum to find out how I can transfer my pics from my pc to this A900 and found some good threads discussing this, however:

It doesn't work! Well, not completely anyways.

The problem is that when I transfer pics onto this phone, I can see them in the appropriate folder SSMED100 (or whatever it's called) using File Viewer. The problem is, when I go to open up my photo album, they are just little squares with a red X inside, much like web pages when a picture doesn't download and you have to right click and tell it to do so.

Why is it that I can see these pics perfectly on this awesome LCD using the File Viewer, but then cannot see them through my photo albums? Also, I have iTunes (forgive me for not being real famil...

This phone is OK, but on mine there's a delay from the time I press something (up, down, etc) to the time it's actually done on the phone...

Everyday I look reviews, opinions, specs and photos of these phones, but I am not sure at all which is better! Here are the things I like about these phones.

SYNC- 2 MP Camera; HSDPA; THIN

CU500- ROTATING CAMERA; APPEARANCE; 65K EXTERNAL

BLADE- LARGE INTERNAL SCREEN; SPRINT; CAMERA

LG VX8300- MP3; SMALL; CALL QUALITY

Obviously there are alot more, I am just stating the most common. Some of these phones have the exact same features, such as Camera, MP3 Keys etc.

Now what I am complaining about is the the SYNC has a HORRRIBLE external screen and it's probably the less impressive phone in terms of good looks and material unlike the rest. Its kinda plain lookin. The CU500 has no FLASH in it's camera, and it has only 65k colors ...

i have the extended battery and this phone is clearly the best i have owned....sprint does put out good phones! 😎

ive had a900 for about 4 months and recently it has been turning off by itself just randomly. Is there a fix or should i just get a new phone from sprint

Maybe I'm an idiot, but I can't figure out how to add a pause to speed dial 1 (the voice mail number). I'm trying to add my password onto the end of it. Somebody help.

Every ringtone I create (mp3 -> wav -> qcp) sounds like garbage on my A900. I have a ringtone that I bought/downloaded from Sprint that sounds fine. I know they take out a lot of the base and do other fancy stuff so that it doesnt buzz the heck out of the speakers. I'm using WavePad to create the wav file, and it has plenty of tools to do these things, but I'm pretty dumb when it comes to audio.

Does anyone have a series of audio steps when starting with an mp3 that results in a decent sounding ringtone? I've even tried the steps on sprintusers.com (http://www.sprintusers.com/forum/showthread. php?t=11225) and it still sounds horrible.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I bought a Jabra BT500. It works great with the A900 but the A900 must be close to it to avoid static. I know that it is the transmit power of the A900 BT that is the problem because I have BT adapter for my laptop with a transmit range of up to 100 meters (329 ft) and I use it for Skype. I can roam around far from my laptop and the sound quality is very good with the Jabra! If anyone knows the secret menu to increase the transmit power of the A900 Bluetooth to increase the range, please post it here. Thanks in advance.

does any one know a good perferable free sw that will sync calander and all that jaz? i know of data pilot and future dial but i want something free.

Does samsung or anyone have software that you can use to sync your the phonebook with. Something similar like The Mobile phone tools softeare/////???// 🤤

Is there a way to force the phone number to display on the external display when a call is coming in? If the number is in the Contacts list, it just displays the name. There are times when I want to know which number a person is calling from (work/home).

Two questions:
1. If I connect the A900 to my PC and edit one of the pictures on it, for example, to adjust the brightness, and then save it back to the A900 in the same place, with the same file name, the picture no longer shows up in the phone. I just get the big red X. All I did was adjust the brightness - no resizing or file renaming. Any ideas why this might happen?

2. Viewing pictures on the A900 sucks. I like that you can view 9 at a time in the thumbnail mode, but you can't do ANYTHING until all 9 thumbnails load. If you scroll through the pictures one at a time in full picture mode, it still needs to load 9 at a time, causing an annoying delay every 9 pictures. This is also evident when deleting a picture. Got a question for you Blade lovers. Prob gonna be getting one soon, and need to know what the file size (or time limit) is on using mp3 for ringtone. From what I understand, the clip can only be so long(file only so large) for it to be used as a ringer? ANY help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I've had my A900 for several months now, and am generally satisfied with its performance.

HOWEVER... I notice on occasion while the phone sits by itself, that it will power off and power back on, all by itself!

Also on occasion, the phone will freeze up when I am receiving an incoming call, and it will not let me answer with ANY key, when I close the phone it doesn't change anything, and I can't even press and hold the End key down to power the phone off. I actually have to take the battery off, wait a few seconds, put it back in, and then power the phone back on to reset it!

Is this a software problem? When I go to MENU - SETTINGS - OTHERS - UPDATE PHONE SOFTWARE, it tells me "Checking Update... No firmware update available." And...

How exactly does this phone DIFFER from the upcoming A900m?

Is it possible to have the date/time display at all times when the phone is closed? When the volume button is pressed, the time is displayed brightly for a few seconds, then dims, then goes off altogether.

Is it possible to transfer ringers via bluetooth, or is it only applicable to file transfers (ie. mp3s, contacts, scheduler)? If it is possible, how do you do it?
