Nokia 6255i / 6256i

My Ph menu button keeps sticking, anyone Else having this problem. I have the Jabra 250 and having problems with it. At first I could answer the ph by using the button on the jabra but the last two days, I had to open the ph and press a key for it transfer to the headset. I Try everything and deactivate the blue tooth and reload it again and nothing. Also alot of static Need help

How do you get the verizon logo off the phone on both displays. I try everything. 😕

About the Camera:

Although Mini Display works fine if you are in STANDARD mode, you cannot take a picture of yourself in PORTRAIT mode while using Mini Display. If you do, you will see a bunch of little white If you are able to take pix in Portrait Mode using Mini Display, please let me know! -Lorna

I just got this phone through Alltel....so far I love it! I was just wondering how you change the faceplates? I don't see any way to snap the front cover off, unless I am just overlooking it. Thanks for the help.

Is it possible to get rid of that little melody that turns on when the 6256i starts up? How is it done?

I did a search and didn't find any info. I thought locking the keys to the phone would do the trick but don't want to have to bother with that I just want to dsable voice recording since I will never use it anyway.

It gets pushed in my pocket and it's using up the battery recording things all the time.

Will someone please explain exactly what kind of music can be made into a ringtone? I assume that it involves uploading a ringtone/music file into the appropriate Gallery folder in the 6256i. Would this probably require a memory card? I never had a cell phone where ringtones was even an issue..

I have discovered a true CON in my 6256i:
Pressing the Select button for taking a self portrait.

Taking a regular photo is ok, but that little button is SMALL. Taking a self portrait means having to change the position of your hands, and often when I tried to press the Select button, I pressed one of the directional buttons and ended up with VIDEO or nothing at all. This is one feature that has to be improved. I finally gave up trying to take a picture of my dog and me. 😢

I managed to upload a GRADIENT background to my mini-display but it could be better. Can anyone recommend a site that offers free mini/main display color backgrounds? No gradient, no change of tones, just one color through and through? Thank you.

6256i question:

Go to > Options > Select Options >
and then there is a list:

Alarm clock
Bluetooth menu
Calculator
Calendar
Camera
Countdown Timer
etc

For all of these and more, there is the option to MARK (with an X) each item. BUT WHAT IS THE REASON FOR SO DOING? User Manual is painfully deficient in instructions on how to use what comes with the camera as opposed to what features one can buy from VzW.

I just happened to check my GIN and noted a listing for "xringer". I looked at the below link on the Internet and this is what is available for the 6256i, 90 choices. There are many more is you click on the links on the left of the screen. Due to our corporate IT department I was not able to listen them. My plan is still to hack the phone so I can use my own mp3s, though if any of these sound any good I may spring for a few. Doesn't make much sense, though, as I usually have my phone set to vibrate only, but the old "Our Man Flint/Austin Powers Phone" ring always brings back memories.

Just got this phone today. It was free with my ne2. Also got a free blue tooth headset. I can't seem to get the phone to show my San disk
transFlash card. It's left over from my Samsung 970. Do I have to buy a card from Nokia? It seems to fit alright but I can't see it any where on the phone.

Hi!!! Does anyone has my problem? Or is my phone damaged? All photos are received in a very small size. If you want to look at them closely it makes a zoom, but they look blury, not clear. Please tell me if it happens to everybody.

Note on Xringer.. don' get too excited. Its mostly MIDI crap. ☹️

Yeah, the selection is pretty huge, but the sound quality.. yargh. Should change the name to 'Cool song mangled by MIDI'. Sometimes I'd play a tone sample fo' my girlfriend, an' she'd go "What's that supposed to be?". Even tho' it was a famous TV or movie theme. That's how bad they frack it up. 😳

'bout half the tones are mangled beyond recognition. Another 40% or so sound 'ok'. Maybe 1 in 10 sounds good. I lucked out an' got a pretty good translation of 'Bittersweet Symphony' by the Verve, an' I heard a very good version of the Super Mario Bros theme (probably cus it was originally MIDI itself?), but overall, you gotta wade thru a LOTTA crap to find anythin' good.

Hey guys.
I know that through uscc (probably verizon too) the nokia 6255 is set up so you cannot use mp3s as ringtones. I also know that there is a work around that involves downloading a file onto the phone from a computer. Technical support would NOT tell me how to do it because they aren't allowed to make the knowlege public. Even to agents. SOOOO, save me some googling and someone let me know what I can do to be able to use mp3s as ringtones. I already have data cables and a 512mmc for the phone. Thanks!

Trying to locate a source for a data cable for use with the 6255i. Just acquired the phone for use with Alltel in South Carolina. I have a number of chargers for use with the 3585i and thought I remembered hearing that they would work with the 6255i. Is that true?

So I know every1 has been saying 6256i will never make it to a verizon store but the 6236 wasnt advertized on the nokia website 4 Verizon 4 very long and the flip has 4 a long time and I just recently heard roumors about RazR goin 2 Verizon...So what is all ur oppinions on that? do u think ill be able 2 get it from a store cuz I dont want 2 go through any hassle at BB..Or should I just get the 6236i? The only bad part would be it not having bluetooth..Otherwise I compared and they r pretty much the same..Can any1 tell me?

Does anyone know how to get picture caller ID working on the 6256i? I've already attached photos to contacts but when they call, their picture doesn't show up on either the internal or external display, just their name. Thanks for any help.
