I managed to upload a GRADIENT background to my mini-display but it could be better. Can anyone recommend a site that offers free mini/main display color backgrounds? No gradient, no change of tones, just one color through and through? Thank you.

I made my own wallpaper by getting a photo of my dog swimming in the pool and cropping out the dog, leaving only the turquoise blue wavy water. I uploaded it to the 6256i and now it has a great turquoise blue background with waves. The red indicator bars show up nicely, too.

I tried a pic of my dear husband but all the picture details distracted from the words and the indicator bars.

Well, I have since found many websites with wallpapers and after putting in and taking out many pictures I have finally decided which one stays on the Main Display. It is beautiful and surreal.

Soon I will take a video and send to email, just to see how it is.

Hey Lorna,

Could you reply with a list of the Wallpaper sites you were able to locate? I'm getting sick of staring atthe Verizon logo on the screen, and haven;t been able to find anything through Get It Now.

I assume you purchased a cable from Nokia to upload these files to your phone?

Thanks.

Hi, no I did not purchase a cable (USB) to do the file transfers. I bought a Nokia BlueTooth earbud and make the photo file transfers that way. Takes about one second to transfer a photo and maybe 30 seconds to maneuver it into the right folder (since I do not have Nokia PS Suite, which is incompatible with my iMac).

I discovered a bunch of wallpaper sites simply by Googlng "wallpaper." (You'll get some interior design sites.)

I have discovered that the best thing for the mini display is a wallpaper with no big deal designs on it. Dark colors can obscure important readings (bars and battery strength, plus time of day) but I notice that lighter colors look more washed out on the mini display.

I found some very eye catching wallpapers...

BTW, when I went looking for wallpaper, I looked at Desktop Wallpaper as well as Cell Phone wallpaper. Since basically you just need a picture, why restrict your choices? I also looked at sites for color swatches for fabrics, etc.

The hardest color to find is a bright, brilliant, saturated golden yellow. The easiest colors to find are in the blue/violet range.

How do you upload a wall paper or anything else?
I found the instructions book pathetic.

COULD SOMEONE answer this last question? Do you need a cable to upload and where is the menu selection for that?

I too want to put pics of my grandchildren as wallpaper, etc.

The instruction guide they provide is the pits.
