Nokia 6230

Does anyone know how to change the keypad's light for this phone?
I just got this phone few hours ago and I am trying to set up the keypad's light. But I could do it or found it.

I just thought you guys would like to know that ATT Wireless stores are selling "MMC Music Albums" for $1. I went and picked up five of these bad boys, poped them in my MMC reader. They are 64 MB, i formated them and BAM, just like a new 64 MB MMC card. They are going quick so check it out. I figure its a better buy than paying $70+shipping on nokia.com

I’m having some small issues with the phone. Has anyone noticed that the phone will suddenly reduce the volume for the message alert tone? BTW, I have my ring volume set to 5 in the normal profile oh and the vibrate alert on. Oh I did notice that when I set the keypad volume to 3 the message alert tone will stay at the set volume. OK, try this….set the alarm for like two hours later…turn the phone off and put it on the charger. Make sure the battery is finished charging before the alarm goes off so set the alarm so it will have plenty of time to finish charging. Anyways, the next morning, in my situation, the phone will alarm but the display is blank and I have to pull the battery to get the phone to respond. OK…last one….don’t tap the media...

Anyone know if this phone will communicate with 2 Bluetooth devices at one time? for instance bluetooth dialing from a pocket pc then sending the call to bluetooth headset? I know the v600 will not.

anybody know?

I wanna play with one before I buy it.

I have a barely used, week old 6230 that do not want anymore. I won it in a sales contest at work. It still has the plastic on the screen. It is a great phone, but I love my V600, and I have a V551 on the way. E-mail me if intrested.

how do you transfer ringtones to the mmc for storage as ringers email? cardreader?

I really wanna get this phone, but I'm currently on another service. I want to go into a store around here and be able to see and play with the phone before I buy it. Anybody know how number portability from Verizon is possible?

It's a GPRS phone, but when I called T Mobile, their tech support couldn't "guarantee" that it would work on Tzones. all they said was to get it, unlock it, swap in their SIM card and see.

Has anyone does this sucessfully?

I am an independent OT contractor and have issues accessing email at client sites where they have the internet locked down. I purchased this phone for the BT and because it has it's own email client. I am unable to use the email however, and after searching on Google, it appears that this is an issue with this phone on Cingular. My question is has anyone gotten this to work with POP email (ie ISP provider, Yahoo, etc..) or does it not work with Cinular at all? I could use some info ASAP as I will be returning the phone if this feature is unavailable.

I recieved my shippment of 6230's on Saturday. I am demoing a phone right now. It was worth the wait! I haven't heard of any of the problems that the board suggests. As far as I know it is available in all markets. This phone rocks...bluetooth that is always looking for my moto hs-810 headset. 4 minutes of video play back, FM radio, loud speaker phone, and awesome design.

My only gripes....the phone and my headset rings when I recieve a call. I am sure you can shur this off.

I just got the 6230 two days ago, and love it, absolutely the best phone i've ever had.

Now, I'm looking to customize it a little bit, but have no idea how, because I have never owned a phone that I was able to connect to a computer before. I'm looking to get some MP3's, and perhaps a couple cool backgrounds, addresses and other info too... I'd really like to be able to take some of the pictures i've taken, off my phone, so I can view them on the computer. What do I need to get this done? Do I order the USB data connect kit? Does that come w/ software?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

i have some ringtones which are mp3's. When i have my phone on 'silent' these still ring. the pre-loaded ringones are o.k. any ideas? 😎

Any I dea on the cost of this phone full retail?? I have the V400 and I have exchanged out 3 times now with in 5 months so I'm looking to get out of that phone.

How is this phone anyway in terms of Ergonomics: Excellent keypadd, I thought the keypad kind of small for dialing.

This is only phone Cingular has which has bluetooh right know as dont know when they will V625. Did anybody had any problems using the bluetooth handset?

Does anyone know how to get streaming video on the nokia with cingular servic? the manual describes this but they ask you to contact your service provider for connection settings. Cingular has no such settings at this time.
