Screen Resolution Verizon Omnia

I really like everything I have read about the omnia. However the only issue I see is the screen resolution and brightness. It is not even as good as my Lg Voyager. I really wanted a phone you can see outside and I don't want the Storm. People that own the omnia, are you happy with the brightness and resolution?

Omnia and MS Voice Command

I have a Pocket PC XV6700 with which I am moderately happy with BECAUSE I finally got MicroSoft's Voice Command to work on it. I love this program and it easy to use voice dialing /control system. 1] Will Voice command work on the Omnia 2] if not how does the voice dialing on the Omnia compare to Voice Command?

3G capable?

Is it true that this phone will not be 3G capable in the USA? Will it be limited to EDGE speeds when not in a WiFi area? If so I am betting that is why VZW allowed the WiFi feature.

That would be the only thing that would turn me off this very sharp looking phone.

I do have some other issue but they are minor. I am not a fan of the proprietary connections that require adapters to even hook up a set of earphones.

I do love the idea of the optical mouse though.

Couple of Questions

Hey all!

I've been reading up on this phone for months and glad to see it's finally here. I've been here and HoFo and have a couple of questions for people who own the phone, played with it, or are just 'in the know'. I'm coming from an LG VX8600, which may have been the worst phone ever made.

1. Is there a blinking status light on the phone? I've read that there is and it can be set to flash for texts/calls/etc?

2. How is the camera? I've read that it's great that it is a 5mp camera, but the lens doesn't really help.

3. How is the touchscreen? I had a Samsung Glyde when it first came out for 3 days before returning it. The screen obviously was not up to par. The biggest complaint I had was that when I was on a call, I would hav...

Overall Texting

How would you rate the texting overall?
Texting on touch screens is tough so I'm curious as to how you would rate this phone from a MAJOR texter's standpoint. Thanks

Windows Outlook Mobile on Onmia?

Conflicting info: Windows Mobile web site says Omnia has Outlook. Samsung, Verizon & CNET don't mention Outlook as part of the software. What's the scoop?

omnia vs storm vs dare

I work at vzw and I have to admit that the storm has not impressed me too much. There is an extreme wait for the pone to turn itself on after hitting the power button. Also, the lag when pressing icons or opening files is noticeable, especially vs some of the other devices. The consensus from most business customers is that it is great for email and pictures, but there is a large adjustment if you are coming from a curve/pearl etc.
I currently use the dare, and just ordered the omnia. The dare is great for the screen, excellent response times and surprisingly long battery life.Reception is top notch as well.
From my time with the demo omnia, the screen works really well ( severe improvement from the glyde) and the camera is th...

Vcast?

Does anyone know if the Omnia will have Vcast available? I gotta say this is one of the things that urns me off about the Storm....how can a flagship model not offer Vcast?

Also, will Omnia require a data plan like the Blackberry models?

Thanks in advance 😁

Just ordered phone

I just ordered the phone online and plus a SanDisk 16GB Micro SD SDHC MicroSD Memory Card from eBay for $60 and a Plantronics Voyager 855 Bluetooth Headset from Amazon for $70

Here are the links.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2 ... »

http://www.amazon.com/Plantronics-Voyager-855-Blueto ... »

The advantages of buying the phone online are that you get 30 days test drive period versus 15 days for in store purchases and free shipping, and no activation fee.
