My windows media player is haunted.. wth?

I added a 2 gig storage card to my tilt and added a bunch of music to it. Using the HTC home screen I'm playing the songs and then out of nowhere strange music starts to play - songs I've never heard of before and most definitely would not have included on my storage card. I've looked all over the phone and can't find the various songs that pop up.. What gives? Is WMP downloading music out of the blue and playing it? Has anyone else seen this or am I hallucinating? :-)

Tilt without a data plan

Hi,

I am looking to buy the tilt, but I do NOTwant to buy a data plan. Will I still have a lot of options using the phone without buying a data plan or using ATT's wareless internet? If I buy/download a third party's navigation software... will that not access the ATT data network... or will it need to access it and will I be charged on a per kilobyte basis. ATT said that I would need a data plan so I am not charged for the GPS accessing the ATT internet (which it will HAVE TO DO), but I have read many reviews taht said that the third party softwares on the tilt work independently from the ATT data/internet. If I have the ATT data/internet blocked, will I be able to use any third party navigation software. I want to use some of the ph...

has anyone had this problem?

I recently received my tilt and when its in 3g service it automaticly wants to turn on the media net service on its own. It doesnt show on the main screen but it shows up by the top right near the antenna reception. Even after i go into the manager and turn it back off it will turn it back on shortly. And the worse part is it will lock up the screen to a blank all white screen and you cant see anything then. I did call at&t and they couldnt fix it and they tried having me talk to a htc rep.and he cou;dnt neither. I sent it back but i was wondering if anyone had a solution so when i get my new tilt i dont have the same problem. THANKS IN ADVANCE 🙂

Text Message Icon

According to the phonescoop video review of the tilt there is an icon on the today screen that opens a new text message. The tytnii, as awesome as the today screen is, doesn't have the text message icon. I have to go through the message center and make 4 selections before being able to start a text. Any body know how I can get this option on the tytnii?
Thanks.

Speaker Volume on Tilt?

Is the speaker volume on all Tilts low? Trying to play music without a headset is pointless because the speaker volume is TOO LOW, and I can BARELY here it ring when I'm receiving a call. My call volume is great though. Is there any way to increase the speaker volume or is the speaker just not big enough? Help PLEASE!

HSDPA disabled by default on AT&T Tilt

Zimbo_Yankee provided a link to this handy tweak utility, which I downloaded and used successfully. (Thanks for the link!)

http://www.jongma.org/KaiserTweak »

In using it, however, I stumbled upon some interesting information. AT&T apparently ships the Tilt with HSDPA disabled by default. Unless you run some sort of tweak utility like this one, you are limited to UMTS speeds even if you are in an HSDPA-enabled city.

I enabled it, and I think there's probably a good reason they shipped it disabled. Even in downtown Seattle right in the center of AT&T's claimed HSDPA coverage, my Tilt cannot hold onto the HSDPA signal long enough to do anything. It toggles between HSDPA and UMTS, favoring UMTS most of the time. What's weird...

screen goes blank in call after 10 sec.

try calling your voicemail you can't press the options on the touchscreen. after 10 seconds in a call the screen dims and 3 more seconds goes blank. We have 2 and both do this. Att couldn't answer so put me to HTC who runs you thru 20 min. of nonsense and then finally admits they have "known issues" and a patch "might" be in the works. Seems like as many of these out there more would also be outraged. Anybody else having this issue? Any known fixes or back doors?

A Couple of Questions

1- Voice Dial: If you have to create a 'voice-tag', I assume you cannot digit-dial.
2- Wallpaper: Can you change the front screen to a picture?
3-Speed dial: How many speed dial numbers are there?
Thanx.

Great deal on a 8925 Tilt!

I initially ordered my tilt through AT&T for $299 w/ a two-year contract extension. They messed up and sent me the 8900 camera-less tilt. While I was surfing the net, I came across a great deal on a new tilt, if you go to htcamerica.net & go to the "shop" section, you'll find out how to get an 8925 for $99 w/ a new 2yr or $149 after a $100 Mail-in for a 2yr extension. As soon as I saw this, I cancelled my order through AT&T & placed a new order at htcamerica.net only to find out coupon code "HTCCOUP" gives you an additional $100 off any accessories you decide to get.

The catch22 is this, it shows that all orders go through LetsTalk.com, which you may know has had issues with mail-in-rebates. The way I see it, rebate or not (and I will...
