E815 Vs. VX-8550

I've noticed that several reviews (including my own) for the VX-8550 were written by people who were previously using E815's. Just curious as to how you feel that these phones compare.

Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of the UI (as evidenced in my review). I wish that it was possible to create shortcuts to practically any menu item as it was in the E815's menu system.

Also, the click wheel is kinda horrible for gaming, yet I can't stand to use the number pad. I'm not sure if it's a game-specific problem or what, but I've also noticed that the controls will screw up mid-game for what appears to be no reason, requiring me to exit the game and re-launch it.

I haven't had any of the negative issues that were mentioned in some of the reviews...

music volume tooo loud (cross posted from main verizon forum)

using the headphones from the music essentials kit (that plug into the data/charger port) the volume of music is painfully loud even at the lowest volume setting.

none of my other headphones use a 2.5mm plug, so I can't use them and see if the headphone jack is quieter, besides, I would like to be able to use the headset feature of the music essentials headphones.

is there some way to adjust the volume range so that I can use these headphones without going deaf?

quick question about headphone...

Hi all,

This question is for the new LG Chocolate (and I guess it would apply to the old Chocolate as well): Would you be able to use a 2.5mm stereo headphone with this phone?

I saw the new Chocolate at a Walmart store and thought about getting it, but I didn't see any headphone plug on the phone. A salesperson suggested one of those "music essential kits", and said I would need to plug an adapter into the phone and then plug a stereo headphone into the adapter (he said the adapter would stick out form the phone.) Yet, the verizon web site has some regular-looking headphones that supposedly would work with this LG Chocolate.

I have a couple of stereo headphones which I use with the Motorola E815 and E816 (not to mention a couple o...

Is it possible to over-charge your phone?? is it bad if i leave it on all day and then plug it in @ night, usually when there are 1-2, and sometimes 3 bars left. if i dont charge it overnight, then it will die on me the next day. Does the charger shut off once the phone is fully charged??

Email?

Hey all,

I've been looking to ditch my Moto Q for something sleeker, faster, and most of all less buggy! I came across this version of the Chocolate which intrigues me, but the two features of the Q which keep me hesitant to switch are the QWERTY keyboard and the ability to get my Microsoft Exchange email. I'm willing to ditch the keyboard but my question is, can this phone do real email (ie Microsoft Exchange). Thanks in advance.

Music Essentials

All right, I've had a problem getting my 2 gig memory card to read on the phone. I purchased it today and after I purchased it I went home and tried to place the card into the phone and sync it up. I'm struggling to be able to figure out what's wrong with it. It reads the internal memory but doesn't read the card. Any clues?

missed calls

How do you find out in VX8550 if you have missed calls? The LCD backlight completely dies after 7secs (or 15-30 secs) and there is no visual alert on the phone which you can see without pressing a key.
Usually on all the phone I've owned so far, there was a dim light on the front LCD of a flip phone which let you see if you had any missed calls or on candybar phones, you also had a dim backlight. This chocolate goes completely dark.

Are these two problems bugs?

Two problems with the phone I have noticed so far.

1) I have my number always blocked, my phonebook entries all have *82 before their number. When I get a call their phonebook name isn't showing up, only the phone number. It seems that the *82 is causing the phone to think another person who isn't in my phonebook is calling me, I've never had this problem before with a phone, so I'm really hoping a fix will come out for this in the next software.

2) While on a call where I need to enter digits such as calling automatic credit card customer service or my bank, etc the phone is always bringing up the "during call menu" with all the mute, bluetooth, record options so I'm pressing all the buttons for that or having to press clear over and ...

Question about picture viewing and Picture ID

I just picked this phone up yesterday, and whether I keep it after 30 days is going to depend on the battery life. I love the look of the phone and for a 1.3 megapixel camera, it looks really good.

My question is...when you take pictures, it takes up the entire screen, but is there a way for you to view them that way instead when you are looking through your pictures? (the only way i've come across is by setting it as wallpaper)

Was also wondering, for the Photo ID when someoneone calls, if there was anyway you could make it so that the picture shows up larger...you have that entire screen, it would be pretty sweet if the whole picture showed up instead of that tiny box.

Thanks!

Useable when the slide is closed?

The first chocolate was able to be used in speaker mode w/ the slide closed. Can this phone be used in both speaker and in regular mode w/ the slide closed?
